Day 1 was my hardest, and day 2-4 weren't a picnic!  I was hungry but I made it for two whole weeks, and that made me ready for surgery and ensured my liver was a safe size.  Don't worry about not being ready - think about how AMAZING you are going to feel after surgery.  The hunger is in your head - I kept telling myself, even if I didnt eat for a month my body would have enough fat stored to keep me alive.  Try thinking of all the things that will improve after surgery - achy joints, fitting in plane seats, sore back, sweating from just walking...make a list! It will make the pre-op diet SO much easier!  Also, ask your NUT if you can have Unjury chicken flavor protein powder (mix with warm NOT ho****er) so you can have something savory.  And check out the book - you can make really good protein drinks!  I started with chocolate powder mixed with water and wanted to gag.  But I found a way to make them delicious.  Keep your eye on the prize!  You got this!

Time Since Surgery:  2 Weeks 6 Days

I get yogurt now and my NUT and DR. wanted me eating more/getting more protien (I was getting 2 - 2 1/2 shakes in a day before, I had my first follow up visit yesterday)

B:  Premier Protien Shake

L:  Premier Protien Shake

D: Fage 2% with PB2 mixed in (I had the PB2 for the first time and I love it!  tast just like real PB to me, at least mixed in with yogurt).

V:  On track - but I also need to get new calcium, I"ve been taking carbonate and saw the post on here yesterday and realized I'm taking the wrong supplement....so frustrating.

W:  74 oz.

Exercise:  45 min walk

Dodgergirl, I have been taking the wrong calcium for a month :(  It's called Calcium Caltrate pills (the one I am taking) which is pretty sneaky if you ask me, since that's rather similar to Citrate!  Ugh.  At least we have this supportive forum to find this out early.  I feel your pain :/

I haven't tried mixing PB2 into yogurt...only in chocolate shakes (and it's delicious) - I will mix it with yogurt!  Do you use strawberry yogurt?  I have found that I don't mind the Fage 0% to be honest.  Some things (like cheese) I will NOT do fat-free.  But yogurt, I am ok.

You're doing awesome 2.5 weeks out!

Yeah, I just mixed the PB2 with a tbs of water (in a seperate bowl) and then mixed it into my Fage, it tasted SO good!  (Granted I've only been drinking shakes for over a month so my palate may be a bit compromised :).  I don't mind the Fage 0% either, but they were out when I went to the grocery store, so I just went with the 2%.  I will definately try it in the strawberry yogurt as well.  I can't belive how good the PB2 is and how low in calories and fat!  I have a feeling it will become one of my staples.

Thank god for this forum, I seriously have questions answered every day.  It's really helpful to have this resource!  Good luck with you second follow up apt!

Have you tried the Weigh****chers jalapeno cheese sticks?  They are only 50 calories and have some flavor and I absolutely love them!
