Hey OH friends!  When I woke up yesterday and weighed in at 299 (299.8 to be exact lol) I thought that was the PINNACLE of my day.  But all of your support and encouragement on this post is what truly made my day!  I feel so fortunate to have found a group of people who celebrate each other's successes!  You guys are amazing.

Time Since Surgery: 2 months, 3 days

B: 2 oz of crab, light cheddar cheese, onion, artichoke, spinach, egg beaters quiche

L: Boar's Head Blackened turkey deli meat and a babybel cheese

S: String cheese (Weigh****cher's jalapeño - my fave!)

D: Got a good recipe for turkey meatballs on yesterday's post - and since I have 99% fat-free ground turkey in the fridge, I think I will cook up 1 ounce meatballs and then I can eat them for the next 4 days lol.  I can mix them with a little marinara and those Nasoya pasta plus zero "noodles", or even flavor them with some taco seasoning.  Once I cook a 20 oz package, I'm committing :)

That will bring me to about 460 calories, 68 g of protein, 14 g of fat, 15 g of carbs.  I may add another snack in the evening even though I am not supposed to snack.

What's on your menu today?

Why is a banana not a good choice?

Sometimes I want to eat more of them.I am 4 months out and I don't like to eat to many carbs.I know that a banana isn't a refined white carb.I love bananas.I am just afraid that I will stop losing weight.I know it is in my head but I worry.

Yay!  I am so glad you like the post and find it valuable and look forward to it :)  Funny that you are having last night's dinner for lunch.  I always do the same.  Taco salad - YUM!  When I make something, I am committing to eating it for days lol.  I think we all have that issue.  Impressed that you will wait til the snow melts and exercise outside.  I am only getting to the gym three days this week and doing an outdoor hike on Saturday.

On Mondays I try to make dinner for a few days.I am off so I try to do that so I am covered. So we have food that is made so I don't have to figure out what's for dinner.I don't mind cooking but I would love for someone else to be in charge sometimes. We do go out once or twice a week.I am enjoying the not cleaning up part.

DC! Again, I need to apologize for not posting much...but I have been rooting for you so much!

I started at 370 and remember going below 300 for the first time...the first major victory, and it was the best feeling. You're gonna have many more successes, so prepare yourself! ;)

I'm almost 6 months out:

B: skim milk, 1 1/2 pieces turkey bacon. 30 minutes later, a metric ****ton of coffee (estimated measurement).

There is a pot luck tonight at a play reading committee meeting for one of our local community theatres. I started a pork roast early this morning for some meat for myself...after I pull off a few portions for myself, I'll barbecue it up for sandwiches for others tonight.

S: string cheese! (Like you, I love spicy. Waiting to get through the bulk of string cheese I have, then I'm going to try the WW jalapeño cheese you suggested).

L: last little bit of breakfast casserole I made the other day.

S: Light & Fit Greek yogurt.

D: Pulled Pork, and if there's room, I'll sample a couple of protein forward things at the pot luck.

on track with liquids and vitamins.

Thanks for rooting for me, Topher!  You are doing awesome and perhaps have lost the most weight in the shortest amount of time of anyone I have seen on the site!  Seriously, awesome.  Your menu looks really good.  Nice that you skip the bbq sauce yourself.  I haven't had a single bite of anything with sugar so I have no idea if I dump (i.e. bbq sauce) but I am sure I don't, since I have the stomach of steel.  Damn stomach of steel lol!

Let's share spicy recipes!  I put crushed red pepper on pretty much everything.  Were you ever a smoker?  I used to smoke and I seriously wonder if I stunted my taste buds!  It looks like I am going to Mexico for work in a week and a half, and every time I am down there, I eat spicier salsa than the locals ha ha.

A metric ****ton of coffee...yum.  Too bad I like my coffee with french vanilla creamer.  No more of that for me.  I do have a cup every now and again but without that sweetener, I don't make it up to that exact quantity (metric ****ton being a very quantifiable amount).  :)

You bet! I will always root for you...you always have such a positive outlook, and you have always been so kind to me. Not to mention, you seem to be doing all the right things. Your positivity and enthusiasm is infectious, and I love it! How can I not root for you? :)

thanks for the positive words about my loss. It's still shocking to me...but I feel like I'm dealing with much more restriction than others that are 6 months out. I don't know if that's helped. My surgeon and nutritionist don't seem concerned with it, so I'm trying not to concern myself either. I assume it'll even out eventually.

I am definitely down with sharing recipes! I love to cook...that paired with the fact that I get bored of the same things over and over again...I definitely like to have as many ideas, recipes, variations and tricks up my sleeve as possible.

I do use crushed red pepper a lot. That and cayenne powder and Tabasco sauce. One or more go in almost everything I cook. The boyfriend isn't a fan of spice, so I usually have to add it to my portions...or make something different for him.

And I never thought about the smoking thing...I smoked for almost 20 years...quitting for the surgery. It never occurred to me before, but perhaps you are onto something there!

much love, and can't wait to hear more of your successes!
