Absorbing Iron

I understand the concept of staggering my multivitamin (with Iron) and my calcium supplement becasue the calcium will hinder the absorption of iron. My question is, what about the natural iron in food? If I eat a meal high in iron (say spinach or something else), do I need to wait the same two hours before taking the calcium supplement?

Down this path lies madness.  The nutrients in food are a package deal and you're never going to micromanage to that degree.  Stagger your supplements but hold on tight to your sanity.

You don't need to.  Just know that if you take your calcium supplement with a meal high in iron, you won't be absorbing much of that iron.
