Hi OH Friends,

Good morning!  So every morning I wake up and turn on the Today Show and watch it while I am getting ready.  Today I was thrilled to turn it on as they started talking about the upcoming change to food labels.  It's the first time the FDA has changed food labels in 20 years, and has to do with one of Michelle Obama's initiatives.  The net/net is that 1. Serving sizes will be realistic (a 20 oz bottle of soda will be one serving, not 2.5. 2. Calories will be larger and easier to read 3. I also learned a valuable lesson I will share with you.  Every few days, if I am not feeling "regular" I take a Senna (a natural laxative) at night.  Well last night was particularly difficult to "go" and I took two.  NOOOOO bueno.  Just saying :)  Learn from my mistakes!  LOL

Time Since Surgery: 10 weeks, 5 days

B: 3 tbsp of egg beaters, slice of cheese, two slices of turkey bacon

L: 2 oz of rotisserie chicken (no skin, white meat only), less than 1/4 cup of brussels sprouts, some spicy green sauce that I love

D: 3 oz of rotisserie chicken (no skin, white meat only)

S: Chocolate premier protein shake

This amounts to 646 calories and 70 g of protein (plus 34 g of fat and 14 g of carbs).  I absolutely have to have the shake today for protein as a snack, likely before my personal training session at 7 pm.  Tonight I have a work-related party and after-party (the after-party is 10:30-2:30 am and on a Thursday?!).  Everyone will be wasted, and I will be either amused or annoyed ha ha.

W: Working on it

V: One multi, one 5,000 vitamin D, and two heinous petite calcium citrate pills down the hatch

E: 2 miles on the treadmill at 3.1 and 30 minute personal training session after work

I forgot my FitBit at home and I am really upset.  I might go get it before the gym.  I can't believe it's not tracking me all day. I made 10,000 steps yesterday and felt so proud!  I can't believe I care so much!

How are you and your beautiful self doing this morning?

i can relate to the no bueno. About a month ago, I posted something along the same lines regarding constipation. I took two laxatives instead of one (the dosage suggested between 1 and 3, so I thought two would be a good average dose). It ended up being a COMMITMENT. Anyway...

I'm a little over 6 months from surgery.

B: I ate about half the guts out of a sonic junior breakfast burrito, with jalapeños added for spice. Just brewed my coffee...about to tear into that as well. 

S: will be Dannon l&f Greek yogurt...most likely strawberry banana. My favorite of all their favors. 

L: lunch meat roll up.

S: beef or turkey jerky.

d: going to eat out this evening. The boyfriend and I got our tax returns yesterday. Paid off several bills, and we are going to use the rest to shop and have a nice evening out. (Down in Alabama, we call tax return time "redneck Christmas"). Will let him choose where we eat, as we don't really eat out much, so I want him to feel treated. I will choose some sort of grilled chicken option, or something protein forward. He is a burger and fries kinda guy, so I'm sure something like Red Robin will be where we end up at.

exercise: will get it in today, most likely a long walk, jog or hike.

water and vitamins are on track.

Oy Topher, what were we thinking?  Commitment is right!  I keep excusing myself from discussions and probably getting an "active minute" in (if only I had on my FitBit!) as I run (not walk) to the restroom.  Well, it's the direct opposite problem, right?  LOL

LOL @redneck Christmas.  Ok, I am impressed that you already filed your taxes.  Gotta get on that over here.  How nice that you guys will enjoy an evening out.  Sounds like you have a good plan in place too.  When it doubt, order grilled chicken...that is sort of my manifesto ha ha.  I go out wayyyy too much.

Who doesn't love to wake up to jalapeños and coffee?  Well today I might steer clear of both of those...but in general, YUM!  

P.S. I haven't tried the strawberry banana but I will.  I actually liked the banana creme.

I had a stomach bug yesterday so I am going easy on the food again today!  I did lose a pound. It will come back when I start eating normally again :(

Great news about the food labels. Thanks for sharing that.  I may steal your link and share it in the lw board. 

No school today. -20 wind chill. Actual temp 0.  Brrrrrr. I'm staying inside today!

Hope your tummy is all better ASAP.  I don't have a bug, I have a self-induced laxative bug HA HA HA.  But in all seriousness, take it easy and get 100% better.

Hi Candy,  I am in the suburbs of Detroit, how do you make a root beer protein shake? :)  This sounds very interesting!!  Stay warm!
