What's on the menu today, RNY-ers?
Hello everyone. It's kinda cloudy and I'm trying to work myself up to walk to the gym (maybe a 10 minute walk). The little one threw a huge tantrum this morning and I turned to bread for comfort.... Stopped halfway and threw it out. I need to go get a good workout in. Sigh....... Love having a 3.5 year old!
Anyways my eats for the day
breakfast: mini eggo with little bit of butter and syurp and 1/2 banana, 1/2 toast working on my second cup of coffee
lunch: going to have a turkey and provolone wrap with a salad
snacks: banana cream Greek yogurt with some hazelnuts mixed in (dessert), protien shake maybe before the gym
dinner: dad is in class tonight so little one and I will make mini pizzas
little high in carbs today.
v: most are in iron after lunch
e: either running in treadmill or a video at home
w: poured my first 24oz bottle will have 2 more. I am getting better with this getting in about 2 1/2 goal is 4/day by the end of the month
Cal:1111 carb:112 protein: 71
I love the banana creme light and fit yogurt too!
3.5 is a tough age...sigh...my friends have kids this age and I am always like, "How does this littler person understand everything and communicate well and then all of a sudden just flies off the handle and cannot listen to reason?!" lol.
I tend to load my water late in the day but then I have to pee in the middle of the night so I am also trying to find balance :)
I live about 5 minutes from Mexico, no place you'd want to travel to though.
Breakfast: yoplait light w/ 1T mini chocolate chips
Lunch: protein shake
Snack: chicken, maybe some black bean dip
Dinner: Skinny chicken parm and brussel sprouts
snack: WW Popsicle if my calories are in check
vitamins are on track, ran 4.65 miles this morning, and walked a couple laps around the dog park before our buddies got there
I have been taking each meal on how I feel at the 3 to 4 hour mark. Since my surgery 3 weeks ago for perforated small intestine, I can hardly eat a thing. They removed another inch of my stomach and 6 inches of small intestines. My ryn surgery was 2/17/2011, but this is much like a revision.
I tried soft scrambled eggs last night could only eat 2 small bites, puréed food isn't going down very easily at all, so I am living on liquids still. So breakfast was a mango smoothie maser with Fage yogurt, and almond milk with extra protein and fiber.
Have a Gloria time in the warmth and sun.

I have a really hard time eating out as well. So much of the food has hidden calories. Chili's has a fajita bowl that sounds like it would be healthy but it has close to 1000 calories for one serving. I don't know how large it is, but even if I ate half of it I would still be eating half my days food in one meal. I would much rather eat my healthier version at home and most of the time it tastes better.
Breakfast :my trusty protein shake.
Lunch grilled chicken salad
Snack greek yogurt
dinner: I don't know yet. It is going to be one of THOSE nights. My daughter has a school rehearsal until 5:30 and then soccer practice at 6. My son is singing at the Ash Wednesday service and church and my husband is working late. I am torn between picking something up or having everyone fix their own thing. If I do that I will have a black bean burger.
Snack: ham and cheese lettuce wrap
Exercise: 30 minute core class, 4 mile run, and 60 minutes weights. The run didn't go well. I am training to do the warrior dash and was working on some obstacles at the park. While doing one of them I rammed into a pole and my leg is bruised and swollen. I was able to run the two miles home, but I will probably take it easy tomorrow.
Day Dream Believer - your day sounds super hectic! I hope it all worked out in the end. I hear ya on the hidden calories. For me, it's the slider food guacamole. I need to STEER CLEAR! For dinner I got grilled chicken and after about 2.5 ounces I was full. So apparently I need to eat dense protein to keep my portions in check. Because things like guac, tuna, etc...I need to meticulously measure. Ugh. Like everyone says, this surgery affects the stomach, not the head.
Great job on your exercise and your goal to do the Warrior Dash! Sorry about your leg :( But wear it proudly like a battle scar! Would the pre-RNY version of you get hurt while exercising? :)

Well yesterday ended up making me realize I really have to watch carbs.I did buy some protein cereal and I think it made me crave more carbs.I ended up eating two cups of popcorn.I didn't eat too much but I felt out of it.
B:Protein Bar
S:Protein shake
l:half of a sandwich on wheat
S:yogurt
Dinner:Taco salad with chicken
I did get my vitamins in I am working on getting the water. I did go out to our wood pile and got the snow off the wood pile.Which was a pain in the butt. But anyway.
I think sometimes I try things just to test the waters.I now know I really need to watch what I eat.Protein first always.
Take care DC girl.
Hey 3BassetHounds - yeah, for me carbs are a slippery slope so I have decided I have to steer clear as much as possible until I reach my goal. I am having a week where I am doubting I can reach my goal, being so off kilter. I just need to get home and get back on track! I am only eating protein but the amount freaks me out! I can't believe you had to clear snow off of your wood pile. Such different lives we lead (me being in a super busy neighborhood in DC). But I bet that's kind of a cathartic activity. I like doing things where you can see the result when you are done :)
