Hi OH Friends - great participation on this post this week :)  I love your meal ideas.  I had a turkey burger and pickles last night because I saw it on someone's menu :)  I just went to the grocery store and stocked up on protein for the week...I am off to Puerto Rico in a week so I just have three work days to survive!

Time Since Surgery: 12 weeks, 5 days

B: Light and Fit Greek yogurt (strawberry)

L: 2 oz Boar's Head honey turkey, 1.5 ounces of Goat Ash Chèvre deliciousness

D: Mediterranean chicken kebobs at a BBQ tonight

E: Did a 25 minute training session and 20 minutes on the treadmill over lunch

V: I dread these calcium citrate "petites"!  But I am on track with Vs

W: I am about 30 ounces in

Without dinner I am at 265 calories and 35 g of protein and 12 g of carbs.  I hope to double all of those numbers without having a snack, but I may have half of a protein shake if needed.

What's on your menu today?  Em

Ugh I feel like crap! Let this be a lesson to you newbies, if you don't work on your head hunger/emotional eating while you are still in the honeymoon phase it will bite you in the you-know-where. I'll admit it I let the surgery do all the work. I never went to the gym, I had very little food issues, and ignored my mental problems. Here I am 7 years out and am just now starting to get the hang of things. Yesterday was a stressful day after a stressful week, and what did I do? Went out to dinner and minus the salad I ate all my food was fried and I ate a few bites to many... I felt dirty and gross the rest of the night and feel off when I woke up this morning. Sorry for venting and thanks for listening. Today is a new day, yesterday is long gone!

my eats:

breakfast: french toast sticks (not the best choice...) 1 1/2 piece bacon and a huge cup of coffee!

lunch: chili with cheese, sour cream and a few crackers for crunch, salad

dinner: grilled chicken thigh and salad

snack: protein shake before gym (if hubby is home in time) strawberry Greek yogurt with some chocolate chips, maybe a protein bar need to up my numbers

v: in a sec

w: first pours need to get on it! And flush out the yuckyness of last night

e: hopefully my class if not 45 minutes on the elliptical

cal:1076 carb:96 p:76(need more!)

have a great day everyone, it's going to be in the 80s here so I can't wait to enjoy the sun

Ok...sunny and 80s...I don't like you anymore ;)  Just kidding!  But I am envious :)  Thanks for reminding us of the hard lessons of WLS.  At least you now feel dirty after eating a large quantity of fried food, and know it's bad.  I know stress affects everyone differently - like you, I used to eat to cope with stress.  Long and hard day?  Eat 6 pieces of pizza!  At least at 7 years you haven't had significant regain so I hope you are able to get your head back in the game.  I see a lot of people on here recommend that you detox and do zero carbs for a week - since carbs make you crave carbs.  Although you went to bed feeling bad, you had french toast for breakfast...those are those carbs calling your name!  Like a siren song lol.  I am also a carb addict so I feel you, boy do I feel you.  I can't pretend to have any idea what it's like seven years post-op, but I know you have worked really hard to get where you are and I am sure you can get your head back in the game.  Having a sick kid, no time for the gym, and stress...it's a trifecta of terribleness :(  I hope your workout is good and you have a great and relaxing weekend!

Thank you for the kind words. A detox would be a good thing right now.

Ooooh thank god it's warm so you don't catch a cold being out in your new minidress ;)  That's awesome that the Midwest will warm up and HOPEFULLY the snow is gone for good.  We have a nice weekend coming our way and then snow on Monday.  Definitely have fun and post pics on Monday!  Glad your slump is over - the sun and warmer temps will do us all a world of good!!!!!!!

Your menu looks good. My RNY is in less than 2 weeks, March 28. I am worried most about the diet. I did not get very good help from the dietition. In fact a waste of my time. Where do you go for good "how to" info. I have 2 books so far. I guess the first 2 weeks anything clear( I don't drink alcohol or soda) How do you meet the goals of diet and vitamins. I know how much, but what. I would love to know the secerts of this diet. Books or other web sites. I live in Sonoma,CA no support groups. There are several places but....u had to have had surgery there. Mine is @ UCSF because I am on medicare, so u can only go certain places.. It costs me $25.00 to go (gas, bridge toll, parking etc.)

I feel like starting one here in Petaluma. Thank you all for being here. Pat
