First leg of my journey to Singapore is done. Nothing to really eat on the plane. Everything appeared to have sauces covering them. So I ate jerky, protein bars and a banana. Got in about 737 cal, all my water and vitamins and since business class was virtually empty I was able to do a lot of walking and stretching. Leave Tokyo in 15 minutes and plan to sleep on this leg. Will finally get a wholesome meal when I get to Singapore Marriott. Otherwise I feel great.

You should be able to order a diet specific meal. When I flew FC to Australia they had an actual menu to order from in flight, I would have expected the same for one to Asia. I know even on domestic flights I can request something that is going to work for me. Glad you took the food you did, but for your flight home, contact the airline and be sure you'll have an appropriate meal.

ENJOY your trip!!

Please consult your surgeon & nutritionist for how to do it their way.  Biggest regret? Not doing this 10 years ago! Every day is better than the day before...and it was a pretty great day!

I agree.  I fly a lot of for business and when I am able to get an upgrade for a long flight, I would go online and order a special meal before surgery.  I plan to continue doing that when I get back to work, as the special meals can be a lot simpler, depending on what you order.  I have gotten a no sodium added meal, which usually don't come with a lot of sauce and stuff you can't identify.   Please check on getting one on the way back.
