What's on the menu today, RNY-ers?

Oh Karen, I am so sorry :(  We had to put down a family pet (dog and cat) when I was a young adult and it was devastating.  The thing that keeps me going is thinking about how good their lives were!  They were the queens of the house!  And I think of other animals who don't have as good of lives and it makes me feel happy that we could give them such a good life.  It sounds like your pup was your best companion and therefore had an incredible life.  But I am sorry for your loss, and hopefully you can find it in your heart to adopt another sometime.

Also, AWESOME on not turning to food.  I'm impressed for sure.  GREAT JOB!

Morning, Dcgirl! Hope the date tonight is fun. Don't worry about the drink, just get a sparkling water or something, and be yourself. If that's not good enough for him...see ya! On to the next!

I had my menu all set today, and then I went to WhoFoo for those lobster tails on sale. I don't know what I was thinking when I remembered that they were going to be 4.99 a pound, they're 4.99 each! Which is still a hell of a deal, so I got six. Four for dinner for me and my husbeast tomorrow night, and two for the freezer (they were still well frozen when I got them, so they'll do fine in there for a couple of weeks.) And I got a cup of the grass-fed beef chili, so that wiped out my lunch plans. I do have a tough time figuring out the nutrition information on things like prepared supermarket foods, so I just guesstimate as best I can in MFP. I try to do that as little as possible, but this chili is SO good I couldn't resist! It's a lot more like a beef and bean stew; I even have to add a little sriracha to spice it up a bit, and I never like my food spicy.

B: 3/4 C cottage cheese, 5 grams Jay Robb vanilla protein powder, 2 slices bacon

L: 1 C Whole Foods grass fed beef chili (nutrition estimated)

D: 3 ounces Poached Halibut, 1 ounce garlic sauteed green beans

S: 1 scoop Formula 1 Whey Protein, Fruit Punch

This gets me to about 683 calories, 21 carbs, 21 fat grams, 93 protein and 10 sugar grams.

I've upped my water intake a bit today trying to help break a small stall. We'll see if tomorrow shows any scale movement, it's been a few days. I actually went up three pounds, which thankfully no longer makes me panic, but it would be nice to see some more weight loss before the end of the month.

Have a great day everyone!

We're surgery twins and stall twins - I lost 1.4 lbs last week, then lost 2, then gained 1.  I guess we have to plug away and just know we are doing the right thing!  Your menu sounds awesome, as always.  You're quite a gourmet chef!

I took monthly pictures in the beginning.  I then saved them on the computer with the date and amount lost that month.  It really helped to motivate me when I felt like I was still fat.  Many times we still see the fat girl although we have made great progress.  I still look at them from time to time.  It is also to forget what we used to look and feel like once we have lost the weight.

Have fun on your date tonight.

Yes, the pictures really help with the "But, I'm still fat!" feelings. I'm learning to use GIMP to work with my photos, and I combine my most recent ones with my pre-op ones to help adjust my mental image. It works best when you can see the pics side by side! Here's the most recent, combining pre-op and three months out:

I refer to these often when I'm feeling that I haven't made much progress.

What a smart idea, both of you!  OMG what a difference!  I wish I had side pics but I just have front facing pics from the day of surgery and along the way I have taken "selfies".  WOW you should definitely refer to that often!!!!!!
