Hi OH friends and family!  This is a food post with an NSV stuck in here :)

So last night I went out for a friend's birthday.  There were 11 of us.  Everyone said "Oh you look really good!" but meanwhile I am thinking I am down almost 80 lbs from surgery and almost 100 if you count the pre-op diet!  Maybe I wish people would exclaim a tiny bit more ;)  (I am a Leo and an extrovert if you can't tell).  Anyway, when I got home I had a box from Gwinnie Bee.  This is an online site of clothes size 10-32 that you pay a monthly fee (I pay $79/month to have 3 items of clothing for however long I want and then send them back).  My first package came and it's a. strange as hell to be in a 1x top and b. amazing to have clothes that FIT and are not billowing.

So I wore one of the tops today (it's so super cute) and as I was just walking down the hall, this girl who is kind of a valley girl millennial walked past me and said, "Like, oh my god, you look super skinny".

Now, I know at 273 lbs I am far from super skinny, but she might have made my whole year.

On to the menu:

Time Since Surgery: 15 weeks yesterday

B: Syntrax Matrix mint cookie shake with unsweetened almond milk.  I am addicted.

L: Salmon cake

S: 3 oz turkey, 1/2 slice of muenster

D: I dunno - have a concert tonight.  Maybe a piece of chicken I have in the fridge here at work with some goat cheese melted on it

This will bring my totals higher than normal to 770 calories, 91 g of protein, 23 g of carbs, 32 g of fat

What's on your menu?

(And then I had my work bestie take a pic of me in my new Gwinnie Bee shirt.  Check it out and if you want to join I can give you a referral code for an extra month free)  http://closet.gwynniebee.com

How sweet are you!!!  Well you may decide to hit up Gwinnie at some point - for $100 a month you could have a super varied wardrobe :)  I haven't hit up the Goodwill here yet - not sure what they will have in my size.  I thankfully just found the Dress for Success organization in DC where I can donate all of my clothes :)

Thanks!  Yes, last night was a CHALLENGE!  It was an Italian small plate kind of place, there were 11 of us, for a birthday.  Bottles of wine, plates of pasta, friend artichokes, small pizzas, various desserts....I ate too many calories but all I had were 3 pieces of cheese from the cheese/charcuterie board.  I didn't miss the other food but man people could shovel it in!  That would have been me, just a few short months ago :)

It is one thing that is interesting thinking how we used to mindlessly ate before.I know I never will be perfect.I do go out a few times a week but there are places we have been eating for years and know the menu.

WOW! You look awesome DCgirl! Keep up the great work! (That clothing exchange idea is neat.)

To believe that you must hide all the parts of you that are broken, out of fear that someone else is incapable of loving what is less than perfect, is to believe that sunlight is incapable of entering a broken window and illuminating a dark room.”― Marc Hack

You look great!  That shirt is super cute!  Isn't it so amazing to go out to dinner with people and watch in utter amazement at the amount of food people can eat. . . and think that we used to eat at least that much (if not more when we - or I - got home. . . still need a little something sweet).  I literally am in awe.  Sometimes it disgusts me, and then I'm mad at myself because it's only my surgery keeping me from the gluttony as well!  At least I'm a talker. . . otherwise going out with people would be sooooooo boring!

OMG me too!  I am a total talker, and also really gregarious, so it's not obvious to everyone that I am not drinking when they are all drinking because I somehow can fit right in!  I don't get disgusted...it's more so wonder that I feel...and then shock that I was that way AND THEN SOME.  I mean, I could almost eat a box of pasta back in the day.  3/4 pounds of carbs.  In a bowl.  WTF!  I feel amazing now.  I just ate a piece of salmon pattie with some hot sauce and I feel comfortably filled.  But I do have my tool to thank, for sure!

YOU LOOK AWESOME!!! I will need to check out this site.  I don't want to spend for a fortune on work clothes that I will not be wearing for long.
