Good morning, OH Friends!  Do you ever have a day where you go, "I don't drink, I don't smoke, I barely eat...who is this stranger?".  Well I dragged my ass out of bed at 7 to go to the gym and had that thought for the thousandth time since surgery.  Journey my ass...this is a trip of a lifetime!

I made what I think is an AWESOME recipe last night so I will post it at the bottom of this post.  Feel free to share your good recipe ideas!

B: Syntrax Matrix mint cookie shake (have I mentioned the cookie bits?  YUM!)

L: Mexican turkey meatloaf, brussels sprouts

D: Mexican turkey meatloaf, brussels sprouts

S: Hoping to avoid but will have almonds or a piece of cheese if needed

E: 30 minutes on treadmill (hills at 3.2 mph with 2 minutes of running at 3.8!  WHAT?) and 25 minute personal training session

V: Oops.

W: 28 ounces in

P.S. I updated my ticker to show the weight (incidentally my highest ever) that was my weight on December 2, 2013 when I started my pre-op diet.  I lost 18 lbs in the two weeks pre-op so my surgery weight was 351.  As of today I am 272.  97 lbs in 4 months and 2 days.  Puts my recent "plateau" in perspective :)  I couldn't have done it without your support.  And I am not even halfway to my goal weight!  Damn I was fat LOL

Ok now the recipe:

I love turkey meatloaf but bread crumbs and ketchup have carbs, which I try to avoid.  So I made a "Mexican meatloaf".

Saute 1/2 cup of diced onions and a few cloves of garlic

In a big bowl, mix together:

1 20-oz package of 99% fat free ground turkey

1 egg

1/2 of a can of diced green chilies

1 cup of light shredded Mexican cheese

2 tbsp of Ortega smooth hot taco sauce

1 or 1 1/2 packets of Old El Paso taco seasoning

Then add the onions and garlic, put it in a meatloaf pan, and bake for one hour at 375.  DELICIOUS!  And moist!  (I hate that word).  If you make ~7 portions of 3 oz each, it will be 163 calories, 3 g of fat, 10 g of carbs, and 27 g of protein.  The turkey is 21 g of protein and the cheese adds another ~5.  If you buy the ingredients, it's really easy to make - just brown the onion and garlic and mix everything together and voila!  Have a great weekend, all!!!

Good Morning All! I was a bad, bad, BAD girl last night. I ate more than I posted and it felt good. LOL! I was craving a protein bar so I ate it. LOL! I have to get back on track today or my calories will add up to a gain if I am not careful. (This is my second day in a row of eating an extra protein bar and an extra snack.) I'm bad. DO NOT do what I do. LOL! I cannot increase my calories yet because I want to lose some more weight. So I splurged. At least one of my snacks was good for me. LOL! I am not going to beat myself up over it. It is in the past. I just have to be good today. LOL!

I am a cook who eyeballs everything and does not measure when cooking-I just cook a lot of the ingredients and my family adds whatever they liking accordingly to suit their liking.   Whole wheat tortilla shells, grilled chicken with fajita seasoning (usually 2 strips per person), grilled onions and peppers, Mexican style shredded cheese, sour cream, salsa, guacamole

DCGirl, your entire post was hilarious!  I am definitely going to try that recipe too.  I like taco-like stuff.  Yay for you for running.  I have run for a total of 20 minutes and it amazes me.  It seems so cruel that we need to exercise to lose weight, but when you are heavy, it is so hard to exercise.  It's amazing how much easier it is to move when you drop a significant amount of weight (I guess that's where the 80/20 thing comes in with diet/exercise).  I know I will have to continue running in order to keep my weight off.  I don't love it, but it's a fact.  I'm just not a fan of getting sweaty and having to shower and redo my hair every time I exercise.  I live in Florida, so that's every time!  I'm going to Girl Scout camp with my daughter this weekend.  It should be interesting.  I'm not much of a camper, but I am into spending time with my babies, so here goes.  Today, my menu is kinda disappointing.  It's been a busy week and I need to go shopping on Sunday when I get back and plan better.

B: snack sized Premier Protein shake

L: chicken chili

S: greek yogurt

D: chick fil a chicken strips (2)

S: not sure what my options will be at the campout, but bringing some protein bars just in case

Congrats on the success DCGirl!  Also, thanks for the recipe, I LOVE anything Mexican inspired, so I'm excited to try that.  LOL @ moist, but that's so important post surgery.  I think it's why I'm officially in love with sashimi, I have 0 problems with it being to dry and bad things happening.

Today will be interesting, I"m going to Opening Day (GO Dodgers!) and I've never been to the stadium and not chowed down on hot dogs and beer.  Luckily, the thought of eating either of those things literally makes me sick, so I don't think it'll be hard to avoid.

B - Hard boiled Egg, 1 cheese slice (medium white cheddar) and 2 apple slices

L - Premier Protein

S - 80 Calorie Justin Peanut Butter Pack (I'm taking to the game with me)

D - Probably Unjury Chicken Broth

W - Hopefully

V - Good

E - Walking around Dodger Stadium all day

Totals:  Cals: 669; Protein: 75; Carbs: 18

Have a great weekend everyone!
