NSVs I can't wait to experience...
I was thinking about NSVs I cannot wait to experience. Some of mine were:
-climbing up the stairs to leave the gym without huffing and puffing
-running my first 5k
-fitting into normal clothes.. Clothes that don't look like They have shape and and not just blobs of fabric sewn together
-being able to weigh myself on regular scales
-not having to worry if I will fit into a chair/seat
-not being anxious and worrying about whether the chair/seat will break bc I'm sitting on it (luckily this has never happened to me but it is still a huge fear I have)
My list could go on and on. What are some of the NSVs you're looking forward to? Or the ones you accomplished that you had been looking forward to? :)
Weighing less than my husband was also one of mine and it was very satisfying to meet.
To get out of non plus sizes also made me very excited.
To be able to get up and down off of the floor without having trouble.
To run a 5k. I am not even close to being there. I could walk one now though.
To fit comfortable in a movie theater seat. This still shocks me when I go to the movies. I still expect it to be a tight fit.
To be out of the obese range on the BMO chart (almost there!)
To be out of the overweight range on the BMI chart.
To get rid of diabetes and hypertension (done! At least for now!)
Best one ever... going into my kids' school without fear of being laughed at for my size.
-- riding every ride at the amusement park
-- not being the biggest girl in my department
-- not fearing a camera
-- shopping at Victoria's Secret
-- volunteering to sit in the middle seat on the airplane
The list could go on... I hope you get to check all of yours off!!!
I am still planning on ziplining one day.
Can't wait to experience these NSVs:
- Comfortably crossing my legs
- Not shopping in the PLUS size area
Quick sidebar. . . My husband and I usually go shopping together. He's patient when I'm trying on dresses, usually has a nice sense of fashion, etc. Well, one day we were shopping. I took a size 18 into the dressing room and it was waaaay too small. I didn't bother coming out to model it, I just brought it out and headed back to the rack to find another size. Meanwhile, he's on my heels asking questions like. . .what's wrong with that one? It didn't fit? What size is it? Was it too small? He really wasn't trying to be insensitive., I think he just thought he was trying to help. I was just so embarrassed, I said, 'I really didn't like that one. ..let's try somewhere else'. And we left the store.
- Not feeling self-conscious around my 'smaller-sized' friends
- Bending over to tie my shoes without grunting
- Wearing a shirt tucked in
- Owning a belt
I could go on. I know it'll be soon. . .soon. . .my day is coming soon.
THESE ARE AWESOME!
Funny story...10 years back I had just lost about 60 pounds on jenny craig and was around 170...I sat on a plastic molded lawn chair with some friends and the darn thing collapsed. I was like whoa! I just lost 60 pounds for a chair to tell me I'm still overweight. It was funny and we all laughed...but still.
good luck and those are awesome NSV's
