Hi OH friends!  Good morning from dreary and gloomy and rainy DC!  WOW thanks for all of your comments and replies on this post yesterday.  I immediately stopped thinking of the negative (sagging skin) and could see the positive.  You guys really inspire me in addition to keeping me accountable.  I am so glad that this post isn't a love-fest ("You ate a whole pizza?  That's ok!  It was a stressful day!") but instead, you all make such thoughtful comments.  Sometimes it's enough just to know that you're not alone, you know?  So thanks!

I made a new recipe last night, that someone had suggested a few weeks ago.  It was DELICIOUS!  I bought some "savory" tofu at Trader Joe's. One 3 oz piece has 15 g of protein and 13 g of carbs (high carbs for me).  I heated a tiny bit of olive oil in a pan, sliced the tofu SUPER thin, sprinkled 2 tsps of parmesan cheese and some salt/pepper/parsley/dried onion/crushed red pepper on the tofu, and pan sautéed the slices.  They got kind of crispy and really delicious.  It felt like a decadent treat but was not really.  I could only eat half (sometimes I feel like a bottomless pit and rarely, 2 oz of food fills me).  It was really good!

Time Since Surgery: Tomorrow is my four month surgiversary!

B: A Syntrax Matrix mint cookie shake with unsweetened almond milk

L: Leftover chicken salad made with light Hellman's mayo and spices.  Last time eating this (five meals later lol!)

D: TBD.  May be going out for dinner.  If I don't, I will have a chicken sausage or a veggie burger

E: I did almost 3.5 miles on the treadmill yesterday!  That was a first.  Tonight I will do 2 miles on the treadmill and I have a 25 minute personal training session.

V: Morning vits done

W: Nothing yet.  Still struggling through my shake.  Not sure why I am so full but I'll TAKE IT!

What's on your menu today?  Emily :)

Good morning, Em! While you may have dreary and gloomy, the sun is shining in a bright blue sky here. But then again, it's only 36 degrees. *sigh* I'm so, so, SO ready for some nicer weather! Unfortunately at this point in time it looks like St. Louis may skip spring and head straight into summer. It's been known to happen here, I'm told. Oh well, at least I'll be warmer soonish, even if I don't get to enjoy a pretty, mild spring.

That tofu recipe sounds delish! I have a block in my fridge, I may try something like that later on. Did you press the tofu first, or just use it as is?

I know what you mean about feeling full only sometimes. It's odd, there are times I can eat maybe three bites of something and I feel stuffed to the gills, and other times when I can go through (what seems like) a lot of food before I start feeling satisfied. It doesn't seem related to the type of food, either. Dense protein can have the same effect on me, one day it fills me up and other days it's like I never even ate. Do you think we're feeling only intermittent satiety due to the nerves to our pouches healing or something?

Good for you on the exercise! And thanks for the reminder about our four month surgiversaries coming up. Time to pick out an outfit to take pictures in.

Hi Pam!  Envious of your sunny day!  I didn't press the tofu because this particular tofu was vacuum packed and not in a liquid.  If it were in a liquid I would have definitely pressed the liquid out.  It was seriously tasty.

Good call on a new outfit for the surgiversary day!  I just got the CUTEST pants from JCPenney in the mail, literally 15 minutes ago.  Now, they are supposed to be ankle pants but at 5'4" they are actually normal pants length for me lol.  But for $21 you can't go wrong.  The size 20 fits and might be a little roomy!  I am thinking about getting some 18s for when I move down a size!  I bought them in black and HOT PINK!  I think the hot pink will be perfect for NYC this weekend :)  http://www.jcpenney.com/pants/worthington-ankle-pants-plus/p rod.jump?ppId=pp5003721811&catId=cat100250048&subcatId=cat10 0240005&deptId=dept20000013&topDim=Color&topDimvalue=pink&di mCombo=Color%7C&dimComboVal=pink%7C¤tDim=Color¤t DimVal=pink&colorizedImg=DP0315201403282849C.tif&urlState=/w omen/shop-special-sizes/plus-size/pants/pink/_/N-1nopfkZ136/ cat.jump

You know those transfer addictions people talk about?  You have WLS and become a sex addict or an alcoholic?  I think I am becoming a shopoholic.  At size 20 I am out of control...I am really scared for when I am in a 12 and all stores are fair game...oy...

I'm never gonna get that plastic surgery if I don't reign it in!!!!  LOL

Hello Everyone! It is gloomy, rainy and cold here. I agree yesterday's posts were nice. I am glad we have each other to share information (yummy meals and recipes) with and lift each other up as well as support each other. It is nice. Thanks for the friendships.

Guess What? I just got a big surprise. My Syntrax Matrix and Syntrax Nectar was just delivered via FedEx. I cannot wait to try them. Now I have to decide which one I try first and whether not to use water or milk. What do ya'll use? Help me out please those of you who turned me onto them!  (I have never tried tofu. I might have to try it, too! LOL!)

Another thing DCgirl has introduced me to is the renting clothes. I had only known about while losing I would have saved so much money since I was not in various sizes long. What a great problem to have!  I joked about needing disposable clothes when I was going through the sizes like crazy but I had no idea you could rent them. Instead I went to thrift stores and clearance racks and kept my buying to a minimum until I stayed steady at certain weight for a while.

Once I got small I loved shopping! I was a shopaholic. I went every few days. I filled my closets fast. I was addicted to JCPenney. They have good quality clothes for great prices. I think everyone goes through this phase. You just have to be smart with your money. LOL!   Happy shopping! Have a great day!

Well, here's what's on the menu for today if I do not cave and drink a Syntrax shake:

Hey JJ!  I mix the Syntrax matrix flavors with unsweetened almond milk (30 calories for a cup).  I make the Nectar flavors with water.  :)

Which flavors did you get, JJ?

I only have used Nectar so far. For me, I like to mix the Nectar Sweets with unsweetened almond milk and the others with water.

I got a variety pack of 12 random flavors pre-op and some I found totally disgusting (the fruit punch one was BRIGHT BLUE, I just couldn't take it). And as you've seen me post, I have to put a packet of 4C 2go lemonade in the Roadside Lemonade flavor to like it.

I found the chocolate to be ok on its own, but hated (I repeat, hated) the vanilla. A lot of times I "fancy up" the chocolate with a little SF pudding mix to make it silkier and some SF syrup. I'm going to try the Double Stuff Cookie tonight with just the mix and almond mix - we'll see how it goes.
