What's on the menu today, RNYers?
I got these flavors AnnyBananny:
Nectars: Caribbean Cooler, Wild Grape, Fuzzy Navel, Twisted Cherry & Cappuccino
Matrix: Mint Cookie, PB Cookie, Bananas & Cream
Do you use unsw. almond milk with Nectars? Is Nectars same as Nectar Sweets? Thanks for clarifying. I am learning.

So Nectar and Nectar Sweets are the same brand, but for some of the flavors - I think it's Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry, Double Stuffed Cookie and Cappuccino they put a Sweets after it. I would do the first four you listed with water and the cappuccino with the almond milk
Oh no, I think it's the Caribbean Cooler I hated! Hopefully you'll like it better.

I loved yesterdays posts as well. Feeling like I'm not alone in this is awesome.
I'm feeling pretty "ugh" today - gloomy weather, a little abdominal pain, shark week - but this morning a coworker who didn't know about my surgery said, "You're looking...smaller lately!" She is the first person to comment on my weight loss and it felt good - honestly I only now (40ish pounds down from my highest weight) am I even starting to see it.
exactly 4 weeks post-op
B: egg salad
S: 8oz Nectar Lemon Tea protein shake
L: 1/3 cup LF Cottage Cheese
S: 8oz Nectar Roadside Lemonade protein shake with 4C, 2go lemonade stick
D: 1/4 cup refried beans, 1 tablespoon LF shredded cheese, 1 teaspoon FF plain greek yogurt

S: 8oz Nectar Double Stuffed Cookie protein shake made with unsweetened almond milk
Tried the PB2 in my chocolate truffle protein shake last night and it tasted soooo good, but about 20 minutes after I was done I felt really...icky. I didn't get the foamies or throw up, but it just didn't sit well. I guess I'll wait a little longer to try the PB2 again.
Question: How many carbs do you typically get in a day? I continue to have low energy, which I know can still be related to the anesthesia and how little I'm eating. A friend pointed out that it's carbs that give you energy, so I'm guessing is also a contributing factor. I'll see my NUT next week and will discuss further.

Hi AnnyBananny! I personally LOVE Pb2 so I hope it didn't make you sick :( Maybe give it a few weeks.
Carbs - this is quite a hot topic. My NUT won't give me a carb number. I think many people tend to get between 50 and 100? I try to keep it under 20 per day. I have done a lot of research and it seems like a lot of people on OH who have been very successful at losing a ton of weight have limited carbs. I will not touch bread/flour/pasta/sweets until maintenance (well this is currently the plan!). There will be those who argue that healthy carbs (veggies/beans/quinoa) are good for you, but I exercise 5x a week with 20 carbs a day. I focus on just eating protein. This is the ANTITHESIS of what I ate before surgery - I could eat bread and pasta all day long (and did!). So it's an adjustment. I have a string cheese or a protein shake before working out and feel just fine. Low energy does last a month or so for many people. My own personal non-medical opinion is to ride out the low energy and keep carbs as low as you can. It's working for me, at least :) And others on this site like Grim Traveller and some of the people who have been super successful also focus on protein protein protein. They inspire me!
You will get a wide variety of answers to this question so just do what works for you :)
P.S. How is the double stuffed cookie shake? I am still sipping my mint cookie shake. YUM!
I'll let you know on the Double Stuff Cookie, it's going to be my evening snack tonight. I was going to try it last night, but went with testing out the Pb2 first since I love peanut butter taste and have been crazing it.

DCgirl or AnnyBananny, I have wondered about pb2. Where do you get it? How much is it? How many proteins are in a serving? Thanks in advance!

I ordered mine from Netrition (here's the link to PB2). A good friend who is 5-year RNY vet recommended the site to me and it has great prices. Everything seems to be just a little cheaper and the shipping is a flat $4.95.
The serving is 2 tablespoons and it has 45 calories, 1.5 grams of fat, 5 carbs, and 5g of protein.
Oh and there's a chocolate, peanut butter flavor which I'm guessing is maybe Nutella-esque, I got it in my shipment yesterday but haven't tried it yet. Stats on this are similar. 2 tablespoon serving, 45 calories, 1g fat, 6 carbs, 4g of protein.

I actually found PB2 in my local supermarket, in the nut butters section. If you have a decent-sized supermarket nearby, it's worth checking there.
