Pre-Op Failure?
the earlier poster who said that you probably will not feel full on the pre-op diet is right. That was the hardest part of the whole journey for me. It was just dreadful. Plenty of days i just got into bed and willed myself to stay there. but I got through it and then I had the surgery and it got easier. But sometimes you just blow it, it happens post op too. So you need good skills at evaluating what went wrong and putting a new plan into place. Beating yourself up is pointless. But really look at what happened, what were you needing, what was going well/not going well that day. Were the kids driving you nuts? Were you too hungry? Too tired? Were you emotional about something? Bad enough that you went off your plan, but to do that and not learn from it, that is no good at all. Once you figure out what happened, get up, start again. And keep reminding yourself, you are doing the hardest part right now. you don't have the wls tool and you are trying to eat a ridiculously restricted diet. It is miserable, but it doesn't last forever. Drink lots, make your shakes with tons of ice, watch movies, go to bed early and your surgery date will be here soon. Hang in there!
At some point everyone slips at some point. You need to remember what your about to do and how much you really want it. I always tell my self I start again in the morning but my husband says why wait till morning start again right now. Just keep telling yourself you can do it and you will. Good luck with this and with your surgery. I wish you the best.
