What's on the menu today, RNYers?
Yeah I hear ya! I recently had friends who were walking a 5k (just over 3 miles) and I declined because I can walk 3 miles but it would take me almost an hour, and I bet they could have done it much faster without me. The good thing about walking with a fast walker is that it makes you pick up the pace!
Absolutely love the outfit Emily! Your face is so small, too. You look great!
“Let someone love you just the way you are – as flawed as you might be, as unattractive as you sometimes feel, and as unaccomplished as you think you are. To believe that you must hide all the parts of you that are broken, out of fear that someone else is incapable of loving what is less than perfect, is to believe that sunlight is incapable of entering a broken window and illuminating a dark room.”― Marc Hack

It's totally the protein shakes! My program has us drink 3 protein shakes a day through week 8. That's the point that we progress to "regular" food as tolerated and we're to go down to 2 shakes a day until...? 6 months out? I can't remember right now!
I've been so grateful that I started participating in this thread because (among other things) I'm getting SO many good ideas for getting my protein in once I'm lower my shakes. I'm constantly impressed with the protein everyone gets in!

I have to have snacks some days. I may just eat one in the afternoon.
B:Egg white no crust quiche with broccli and cheese and tiny piece of bacon
S:Power crunch bar. Our fridge is broken at work so this is what I had
L:grilled chicken
D:taco salad
S:maybe a yogurt
Vitamins are in, exercise after work.
Hi all - I do 3 snacks daily, planned. It is what works for me. Some days I'll be food, and sometimes shakes. I am noticing though it is getting harder for me to finish the shakes. No matter how much I doctor them up, ughh, I'm over them. I am probably going to drop them altogether soon. I have support group Thursday and this is something I'm going to get more info on. I need more info on what the protein number should be for us this far out. It seems like so many differing plans, but the basis seems to be protein first, and low carb. So with that I might just do my own thing and tweak things around and see where that gets me. I am just a pound or two away from goal and very happy with my results now.
Protein Tea (14g) (trying to cut back on coffee)
B: 3 oz cottage cheese w/protein, and sugarfree jelly (18g)
S: 4 oz protein shake (20g)
L: Tuna with one hard boiled egg, onion, dill (8g)
S: 4 oz protein shake (20g)
D: Ground turkey with marinara sauce
S: 5.3 oz greek yogurt w/handful almonds (12g)
Vitamins/Water: On track :)
Exercise: 45 min treadmill (pushed hard) 30 min swim - done and already back home.
SO awesome that you are a pound away from goal! Congrats!!!!! I do think a lot of people who are successful have snacks - it's so weird that my NUT is vehemently anti-snack.
All this food talk and I am ready to eat my lunch but it's only noon. I will never make it until dinner at 7 if I eat now!
PS I refuse to cut down on coffee lol
