Changing your lunch like you have seems like it would work much better for our WLS diets, Candy. I'm glad you can work that out at your job! How's it going, by the way?

I really like my job!  Plus they were really understanding about the lunch thing.  I am open about my surgery, so just told them the truth.(that I was getting too hungry and was dropping a few pounds I really didn't need to) I just had to not interfere w the lunch hr of the lady at the next desk, because between the two of us we cover phones.

It is sooooo weird to lose weight and be unsure if it is a good or bad thing.  It is only a few pounds but I did not like the trend down and the starving feeling after work.  I am down to size 4 and don't want to buy clothes again as I have been this size for about 6 mths.

I plan on bringing a protein Nectar lemon tea next week and drink it between my two breaks. I was a bit low on protein.   It is not a heavy drink, I mix it with crystal lite, so about 100 calories and 23 grams protein.

Wow! This has been a super active thread today - love it!

I say, better late than never, right? Today...kicked my ass and I have the lack of good food and liquids to prove it. BUT, my fundraiser was awesome. We actually had people under 50 come out to support the Library with our Quizzo and Karaoke and it was a lot of fun. Yesterday my car was full of cake and popcorn, this morning was a tray of soft pretzels - that was waaaaaaay harder than the other stuff.

Hardest part of the day? Finding something to wear to the fundraiser! I had an outfit picked out, but I hadn't actually tried it on - didn't fit anymore (which is awesome but was frustrating at the time). So now approximately half of the clothes I own are thrown on the floor of my bedroom. I eventually settled on a dress and got many compliments on it!

Had a great plan for the day, but I didn't stick to it - well, I should say, I just didn't eat.

Time since surgery: 5 weeks

B: 2oz cottage cheese, 2oz cream of wheat

S: Nectar protein shake

L: 2oz crockpot chicken, LF string cheese

S: Nectar protein shake

D: I had it with me, but didn't get to eat it

S: I should probably try to down another protein shake, but I don't think I have it in my

V: got through them

W: drank water like a fish today

E: Fitbit says I'm just under 12,000 steps - I'll take it

Safe travels, Emily!

Glad to hear the fundraiser went well, Anny! Soft pretzels would have been MUCH harder for me to resist than the popcorn and sweets yesterday. Good for you for resisting their siren song!

Anny! Congrats on the successful fundraiser! That's awesome! I love how "people under 50" came. I know you said you've had this idea for a long time, so I'm glad your bosses gave in and let you spice it up!

Im with Pam-soft pretzels would be rather tempting though I would never have one! I would want one however :)

PS. Don't get me wrong, I love people over 50. But LOTS of people under 50 use the library, so I'm glad they came out to support us!

I love the library! Without great librarians who cared and helped me in elementary school thru high school, I would have never been able to escape poverty. I am talking about a single mom working 3 jobs and still getting "help" kind of poverty. My favorite librarian back home just expired from cancer and I wrote her a card before she passed to let her know how much I love her and am grateful for all the time and help she put into me.

Libraries and literacy are so important for communities!  Answers to be found, entertainment to be had, knowledge to learn, and computers to help fill out those online job applications.  It is unbelievable that some communities dont support there libraries.

Great planning for your trip. I travel frequently as well and pre-planning is the only way I stay on tract. Like you I continue to clean out my closets for donation feels good!

Hey!  I am having the same problem with hair loss!  My surgeons office said take hair vitamins (i.e. biotin and panethinoic acid)  if I wanted to "know that I was doing everything I could" but I am really jsut throwing money down the drain.

My hair lady thinks I still have lots of hair too. But I am getting piles in the shower.

I think cosmetologists see such diversity in hair thicknesses, from the almost bald to the really thick, that they just dont realize that this is not "normal for us"

I am worried that my hair isnt going to grow back. In grad school, when I moved to AL and lost a lot of weight, a lot feel out never to grow back again. My mom has even remarked that it is not as thick as it was in high school.

I decided, if it ends up on the thin/flat side (I have fine hair) I will just get perms to Poof it out again.'

Dont worry about the passion waning. Worry about the SELF LOVE waning. There are times when I have real passion for exercise and tremdenous self respect (i.e. a lot of passion for myself). There aer other times when it also wanes and I want to skip that work out...I want to get in the car and buy something less than healthy (i.e. something for taste..not fuel). This is where the self love comes in.  I remember my committment to myself, to my health and to exercise.  Then I remind myself that I love me, my skinnier body, and the results I am getting.  And that if I go get a candy bar/skip the exercise/ etc, I am not helping myself achieve the results I want. I may even becausing myself to backslide!

Please keep the committment you made to yourself.  THAT IS LOVE.  You implicitly made this committment when you went to the courses on the surgery, did the 6 months pre-op classes/nutritionist etc etc.

I really want to goof around. But I am about to put on some workout clothes and go to the gym.

I am driving in 1 hour each way to work out.

But i didnt see the gymn yesterday. Yesterday I was supposed to work out and have this as my off day.  Well now today gets to be my workout day. I made a committment to 4 times a week...

Good luck and hang in there
