What's on the menu today, RNYers?

Morning Em, Pam, JJ and all the other menu regulars!!
Have a safe fun trip Em and I also want to see some pics if you get a chance to post on here. I hate flying so an overseas trip would kill me, I would need a lot of drugs to get me to Ireland!! LOL I never thought about how a long trip like that would serve meals, and you are right they are not WLS friendly. That sucks! Good luck with that. I guess I would go for a chicken dish and scrape off any sauce and eat veggies. But you have pre planned so you will be fine.
mmmmm Fajitas! One of my fav's. I do miss the tortilla and maybe one day when I get into maintenance mode I will eat them again but happy that I can still have the chicken and veggies and the flavour of the fajitas.
Hubby and I are going to my little cousin's 1st birthday party today at 1pm. There will a lot of "finger foods" there so I am not sure what they will be serving, but I plan on sticking to shrimp if they have it and some fresh veggies and dip, most parties have those. So my menu does not include lunch because I have no idea what I am actually going to have. Will let you all know tomorrow how it goes and what I end up having. All this talk of fajitas so I a making that for dinner tonight!

Just to you all know the baby birthday party was great but not a lot of food options for me. Was very disappointed. I ended up eating fresh fruit and fresh veggies. Oh well I will print my own protein next time!!
I took the plunge and joined the fancy/expensive new YMCA this afternoon! I was there for their Healthy Kids Fair all morning representing the Library, so it was the perfect time - it also happened to be the start of a promotion where you got half our your joining fee, so that was a nice bonus. I'm now ravenously going through their class schedule to see what I want to try first (and what I think I can do for now).
Today I'm feeling totally bla in the food category - nothing sounds good to me. Oh well, some days are like that.
Time since surgery: 5.5 weeks
B: 4oz cottage cheese
S: 12oz Nectar protein shake (I still am only liking the Lemon Tea flavor, wonder if my pouch will ever tolerate the Sweets again?)
L: String cheese and Cream of Wheat - odd combo, I know
S: 12oz Nectar protein shake
D: 1/3 cup Eggbeaters scrambled with 1 tablespoon shredded mexican blend cheese, 1oz unsweetened applesauce
S: 12oz Nectar protein shake
Totals: Calories 587, Fat 8.2, Carbs 24.4, Protein 100.3
V: on track
W: working hard on it
E: I'm still recovering from last night, damnit! And I might have joined the Y today, but I didn't stay to work out...
I'm off to fold and bag all those clothes I tried on last night pre-fundraiser and get them ready to go to Good Will. My closest is getting pretty barebones, it might be time for Gwynnie Bee.

Hi Anny, yay for you on joining the Y! I was going to join the one by my house but now that the nice weather is here I am in the process of learning to jog so I want to do as much outdoor exercise I can. But I do love classes, back in the 90s I was a "step" class fiend and went to them 7 days a week some days two classes back to back I was so into it so I still might do a "Pay as you go" classes to get in some step classes or Zumba. Congrats I hope you love it.
I think for 5.5 weeks out of surgery you are doing awesome on your menu!! The fact that you cant get 3 protein shakes in one day is phenomenal!! I am so super impressed, keep up the great work!
I hear ya on the bare closet, I found this fabulous consignment store that is 30 minutes away from my house and it has some of the nicest stuff ever!! And such amazing reasonable prices. I am going tomorrow when they open to hand in some clothes for consignment (that still have tags on them, I bought them last fall on sale thinking I would wear them this summer, some Linen pants and five pairs of capris) and pick up some new tops and dress pants. Happy shopping on Gwynnie Bee and happy donating!
People do always say running outside is much more fun, that's for sure. I'm meeting a colleague a few days a week to walk outside at a nearby track, but I don't know if I'll be able to keep it up once the summer heat hits!
I should look into consigning some of my things as well - I mostly just want to donate the stuff so it will be gone and I don't have to deal with it - but making a little money back on some of the nicer items would be great, goodness only knows there's a fortune in my closest (not because anything I own is all that fancy, just because of the shear VOLUME - I moved a few months ago and donated 6 or 7 huge bags of clothes then and I'll easily have that much plus when I start letting go the big girl clothes).
Good luck at the shop tomorrow!

Yay for the Y! I need to include them in my list of fitness centers to check out. And look at you, 100 protein for 587 calories? Outstanding!

You definitely should check them out. In this area there are several really fantastic Ys and a few pretty, well, crappy ones - so I think it might be hit or miss. I happen to be lucky enough to live like a mile from a brand new, just opened in October, facility - so I'm really looking forward to beginning to use it!
