What's on the menu today, RNYers?
Ground turkey taco meat with guac sounds sooooo good! Totally putting those ingredients on my shopping list as I think all of them would cooperate with my pouch at this stage. Thanks for the suggestion!

Hey Emily! I'm so glad you're having a good trip and that we get to live a bit vicariously through you.
I did the unthinkable yesterday...walked 2 miles in the morning and then went to the gym in the evening and did my elliptical workout - what is happening to me?! Tonight I am finally going to go to water aerobics and I'm excited and nervous. Which pool is it in? Will people point and laugh (I know this is far fetched...but I'm sure we've all been there)? Will I be able to keep up with the old ladies? It's funny/sad how these old insecurities can keep you in their grips - but I'm going to push through tonight and just do it.
Time since surgery: 7 weeks, today
B: 2oz cottage cheese, 2oz mixed fruit in water
S: 12oz Nectar Lemon Tea protein shake
L: 2oz deli turkey, 1 cheese stick
S: 12oz Nectar Lemon Tea protein shake
D: 2oz Eggbeaters, 1oz turkey sausage crumble, 1 slice of colby-jack cheese, 1oz unsweetened applesauce
S: 12oz Nectar Lemon Tea protein shake
TOTALS: Calories 621, Fat 11.6, Carbs 23.9, Protein 102.8
V: on track
W: I've been rocking liquids lately and trying to keep on schedule
E: water aerobics and maybe the elliptical depending on how intense the Aquacize is!
I was going over my eating plan from my NUT last evening and it talks about eating 2oz of protein and then adding 2oz of "other" food. I've been doing applesauce and a few steamed veggies - but I'm wondering - What are your favorite "other" foods?
We had our surgeries on the same day and i sm do impressed at how muvh protein you get in one day! I have to figure out what im doing wrong! Ypur doing great!
Happy 7 weeks! I get the good protein numbers because I'm still using 3 protein shakes a day as prescribed by my program's eating plan. They have us on 3 a day through 8 weeks, then cut back to 2.
Perhaps you'd like to join this post regularly - some of the more experienced RNYers might have suggestions on some tweaks you might make to your menus to get you on track.

Hmmm...I think I'd be lost without the guide that my program gave me, it must be difficult! I do know there are some plans that don't advocate the use of protein shakes, but I really don't know how I would get anywhere near goal without them.
What protein goal did they give you?

grnidpapple, I do not remember meeting you before. Hey, I'm Sara. Nice to have you on this thread. Look forward to seeing your posts and your menus. We have a lot of fun chatting back and forth. Take care!

So bummed, just got an email from the Y that the Therapy Pool where Aquacize is held is closed tonight and the class is cancelled . They're having a problem with the motor. Even had my gym bag all packed and ready to go so I could run home and then head over right away since the class was scheduled for 6pm.
Guess I'll be waiting until next Tuesday - boo!

Oh, bummer! You were all ready to go!
Well, think how ready you'll be when next Tuesday rolls around!

Morning, Emily, Karen, Anny and Everyone! I took Daisy's advice and upped my walking to 2.5 miles today. Bella kept wanting to leave. LOL! She was confused why I kept going. I guess she is pretty smart. I am amazed the way you walked 10 miles Emily. I do not know if I could do it. Kudos to you! Natalie nice to know who you are and that you have Labs and a ****zuh! I hope everyone had a nice day yesterday and has an even better day today. Take care. Nothing big planned today. Already had first batch of medicine and vitamins, went walking, had three bottles of water, working on fourth, had 2 cups of coffee, about to eat yogurt and go to grocery store. Nothing else planned. Pretty relaxing day! Craving some chips the past few days so I allotted for some 100 calories Pringles. I know not the best choice in the world but better than overindulging. Have fun a****er aerobics Anny! Good for you taking advantage of all the opportunities of gym membership. Go get' em! My favorite other foods are salads and fruit. But I rarely have them. Glad you are back Karen! Take care!
