What's on the menu today, RNYers?
Bet you get up to 30 minutes more quickly than you think! But you're right, it is a fun machine - I definitely get less bored with it over the treadmill.

Good Morning Everyone!
Emily, I"m still blown away by the 25,000 steps! That is so cool! Just wow, seriously. Sounds like everyone else is being supper active, I need to pick up my exercise, you guys inspire me. Anny you're protein is amazing, I need to start getting closer to 100g a day. But it's a real struggle for me. Maybe I need to add a second protein shake?
Emily, I thought of you last night. I ended up having shiratakee (Sp?) noodles for dinner. They were soooo good. I pan fried them, cut up a grilled basil pesto sausage from TJ, grilled some cherry tomatoes, fresh basil and some pasta sauce and it was delicious. I could not have been happier with my dinner last night.
Time since surgery: 3 months, 2 weeks
B - Fage 2% greek yogurt
L - Premier Protein
D- TBD, I have a business dinner. It's at an Italian place, but looking at the menu I see they serve salmon so I think that'll be my go to.
V - On track
W - On track
E - I'm hoping to do 30 min zumba dvd when I get home, kind of depends on how the work dinner goes/how late I get home
Have a great Tuesday everyone.
Edited to add my "other foods" opinion: I have been craving red bell pepper for the last month or so and to a lesser extent cucumbers. I try and eat them with either greek yogurt mixed with dry ranch dip for a high protein snack or I make a tofu type dip and eat them with that. In an effort to get my protein numbers higher I always try and eat all snacks with some sort of protein. I've had some strawberries lately which have been delicious (I haven't had much fruit since surgery, so this is me testing the waters with fruit, since that's how I plan to "treat" myself during the summer months at bbq's and what not). I find I really enjoy veggies since surgery. I have a whole new appreciation for them.
YAY! Another shirataki noodle convert! I know some people hate 'em but I find that they give me a "I'm eating pasta" feeling and are super satisfying. I love them with shrimp and pesto. YUM. Just rinse rinse rinse!
Glad we are inspiring you - I am still not a person who just LOVES the gym so much, but I do like it and I feel bad when I miss it. I also know it's helping contribute to my weight loss so dammit, I will drag my ass there :)
Wow now that you mention red pepper, that sounds delicious. Those would be a great way to eat hummus and guacamole - two faves of mine at summer bbqs! I like the idea of the ranch with greek yogurt too. Since I am on a 3 meal no snack plan, I can't really ever just eat peppers with yogurt though :( For my 3 meals, each one should have 20+ g of protein. Sigh...
I went to Jamie Oliver's Italian restaurant on Sunday with friends (it was one friend's bday and she chose it), and I had salmon. They both had pasta and shared a brownie. Honestly I didn't even feel bad about it. I knew the salmon was what I should have, and it helped me make a good protein number. What a change from 5 months ago when I would have eaten a basket of bread and a whole pasta dish and shared the brownie too!
Enjoy zumba!!!
As I was posting earlier in the thread - my protein numbers are all thanks for 3 shakes a day. Next week I'm supposed to cut back to 2, but I don't know if I will yet... You could add another shake in as a snack in the afternoon or evening perhaps?
Can't wait until I can do raw veggies! Bell peppers and greek yogurt ranch dip sound soooo good to me right now.

Hey Janessa! I looooove your name! It's so cool! Your day sounds really nice :) How lovely to go meet your hubby for lunch! I hear ya on the "get your butt into gear" with vitamins thing.
How funny that you like my job - I normally do too, but I just declined dinner because I have literally been surrounded by people for 10 days straight - social things every single day! I need a night off! I am now thinking sushi and then gym.
Have a great day!!!
Thanks! My hubby is a hard working man; he is working a fulltime job and than some, and goes to school full time and he plays hockey on the weekends! He had his class last night so liv and I really havent seen him since Sunday afternoon! LoL it will be nice to spend some time with him. I can understand about the break. I'm sure it will be nice to just chill by your self for a bit.
Welcome back! My kitchen is gutted, so I have no stove, fridge or sink, so my diet isn't worth mentioning.

Hey Grim! No fridge or kitchen?! Ouch. You must be eating out like I have all week. Did I see a post recently that you have been laying your own floor??? I guess you couldn't have done that 289 lbs ago :) Must feel good to be manual labor-ing. Hmmm I wonder how to count calories for floor laying...
Once your kitchen is functional feel free to post here if you'd like. A. we are sorely lacking MEN! B. You have been insanely successful in your weight loss and can give us ideas. I know you're a "meat, hold the potatoes" kind of guy, but any ideas are helpful. We are just a group of newbies trying to maximize the honeymoon period, and a vet or two who join in (like Janessa). So please come back once you have a menu, every now and again :) Em
Pfft! A REAL MAN would have quarried some rocks to build a fire pit, made a fire from trees he cut down (with a Swiss army knife!), snared a mammoth or something, set up a spit from sticks he found laying around, and seasoned it with the tears of his trampled enemies!
Oh, no, wait, that would probably be Conan, not a "real man"!
Have fun with the kitchen floor, Grim!
