Thx so much. I've never gone to OA but either this or therapy appears to be my answer. I'd rather get this under control during my honeymoon phase while I still have malabsorption. Gotta get this under control.

I'm four and a half months out and while I'm not a binge eater, I am a mindless snacker.  When I'm in my office I find myself chewing on snacks...not bad stuff, but things like wasabi coated black beans or  garbanzos...still lots of calories. What scares me is that I'll get back into that habit.

ALl of the suggestions addressed to TD look like things I, too, need to look into.

I have always been a binge eater, too. During pms I have a really hard time with it because I don't feel satisfied. I do have some rules that I follow (like not eating two of something just because I like the way it tastes and feels in my mouth) and try not to have foods that are hard for me to resist. Good luck.

Thx. I like the rule of. Or eating 2 of something. I am struggling with doing this all the time. Tonight, I ate 1 and told myself I needed to wait my 30-60 minutes, drink water, and then f I still wanted a second I could. Well, the craving passed and I am satisfied. This is going to become a new rule for me, too!

Stop doing it. If you need therapy to stop, then find a good therapist. When I feel inclined to binge, I get back to tracking my food (weighing or measuring) and stop.

I weigh, measure and track every morsel. Even if I binge. My last binge I ate 5c Skinny Pop popcorn and a Quest bar in 1 sitting. I logged everything, had eaten 1334 calories for the day, but after this binge went into a carb coma. Was very sick and finally went to sleep. I know what I'm doing, and sometimes I just do it anyway, knowing the consequences. If I could 'just stop' I would. It's like I have this out of body experience and just eat. Luckily it's only been 2 times since surgery, but I need to get it under control.
