OMG if I had to go to the hospital I don't even know what I would do!  Probably never speak of it again!!!  I am so sorry you had to go through that :(  I had NOT even thought about a probiotic.  I love the idea.  Like at night, when I eat my one treat (a caramel calcium chew lol) I could take two refrigerated probiotics.  Hmmm I am going to seriously consider this and ask my NUT what she thinks!

Hey Em, yeah it was pretty awful.  I had tried so many things prior to the probiotics and nothing was really getting the job done.  My Dr. told me Miralax and benefiber, but that wasn't really getting the job done on a regular basis and I would have some pretty painful days in between (and I swear I'm not a baby about these things, lol) .  So I started doing lots of research about possible alternatives and that's when I discovered how good probiotics are for you.  I am so happy I started taking them.  It has made a world of difference for me.  There are even a couple studies out of Stanford that say probiotics help increase weight loss in RNY patients.  To be honest, I haven't noticed any more or less weight loss since I started taking them, but I will say I feel 100% better.

Feeling pretty good today. Got to have a ladies night out last night with some dear old friends and had a great time. Mind you we are very conservative so it was a low profile evening. We ate dinner at Cracker Barrel, I ordered a kids grilled chicken tender meal with a side salad with ff Italian dressing. Ate all the chicken and picked through the rest. Best of all it wasn't about the food. It was about catching up and sharing memories with wonderful friends.

Em, I take senna laxatives 6 days a week. These are vegetable laxatives with no stimulant. I believe it's a generic form of the one you take. I asked my nut and she said as long as there were no stimulants in them they would be fine. I also take a cap of miralax every day. This keeps me regular and sometimes 2x a day. I feel much better. The laxative I buy has no stool softener in it that is why I use the miralax.

I noticed my food choices today are way off the chart in sodium. Will try and bring that down. The pickle skyrocketed my sodium. I have 2 snacks I may not get to but will keep them in my count just in case.  :-)

You inspired me to fix the cauliflower crust pizza. I've made it before but it requires some time and effort so I hadn't made it in a while. I'm not sure about tuna on it though...

WOW your day looks awesome.  Almost 100 g of protein!  My view on salt is this: I am not drinking alcohol, I am not eating carbs.  I will be DAMNED if I lower my salt intake!  LOL

Sounds like you had a lot of fun with your friends.  That's great.  It's nice to chat and catch up and eat a little but not have food be the main focus.

My only regret on the cauliflower pizza is that I should have done 2-3 heads in the food processor and then just frozen small bags of it.  Because the ricing is the most time and effort.  If I had a bag of it in the freezer, I could defrost it, nuke it, squeeze the water out, and add the other ingredients in a jiffy!

I take a bag of frozen cauliflower and cook it in my pampered chef microwave pot. No water just coo****il real soft. Then I just use a potato smasher and smash smash sma****urns out great. This time I used parchment paper to bake on and it turned out perfect. No scraping at all!

My NP at the surgeons office had me add a daily dose of Mirilax to my stool softener. I was already taking probiotic and stool softener and still got backed up after taking some pain meds.   Mirilax seems to be working, I have been taking it a few weeks now.
