What's on the menu today, RNYers?
Louise, haddock is one of my favorite fishes! I haven't really been able to find it since I left the East coast, though; I guess it's not something that they get in Texas and the Midwest.
Glad you're posting!

I am new to fish! I really like it though. My husband got some killer deal, buy two get three free deal on frozen haddock fillets. 90 calories and 20 grams of protein each. Wow! And tasty! I thaw them in water and fry them up in a pan. I am still learning how to cook fish, I am gonna try some in parchment paper later this week.
It definitely has been quieter around OH, but this thread usually gets a lot of action LOL, so hopefully that will keep up!
I'm intrigued by the cauliflower pizza crust. I've seen it all over Pinterest but haven't tried it. I also ended up not doing the pizza skillet the way I had planned last week, I used half a Flatout Lite Flat Bread instead, which was also good. I'm still exploring my carb sweet spot, so the Flatout was ok for me, but I know some people wouldn't want those carbs.
Lovely day here, started by walking the track with my colleague and then a school visit with 5th graders, who were surprisingly enthusiastic for a Monday morning at 9am.
Time since surgery: 8 weeks
B: 3oz cottage cheese, 1oz fruit cup
S: 12oz Nectar Lemon Tea protein shake
L: 2oz chicken salad, 5 cheese crisps (these aren't all cheese like the ones you got Emily, but they have pretty low carbs and even some decent protein), 1 cheese stick
Pre Workout S: Babybel Lite
D: Flatout Pizza with turkey pepperoni
S: 12oz Nectar Lemon Tea protein shake
TOTALS: Calories 639, Protein 94, Fat 22, Carbs 26
Have a great Monday all!

All this talk about pizza, OMG! I am going to have to do something about this sudden craving methinks...
Anny, you're doing so well with keeping up with the exercise. How much of a difference do you think it's made for you in terms of how you feel in general? I've found that since I started exercising routinely I haven't seen much of a change in the scale, but I can tell that I just feel more comfortable and energetic in general.

Like you, I don't know that it makes a huge difference in terms of moving the scale, but I TOTALLY have more energy and just feel better on days that I work out. I think it also just feel better about myself, it makes me feel confident that I'm trying new things. And strong! It makes me feel strong!

Hi Anny! I have heard of this Flatout Lite bread...did you like the taste? I am surprisingly ok so far without bread. I get so nervous about re-introducing carbs in since I feel like that opens Pandora Box for me! Your menu sounds good, and I am impressed with your morning walks and your nighttime water aerobics/ellyptical schedule. I went to the gym 5x last week, which is always my goal but doesn't always happen. It felt good but isn't always possible with my schedule :( Have a great Monday too!
I tried the Flatout twice - once as a pizza the other time as a wrap type sandwich. The pizza I really enjoyed. The wrap was not a good idea for me yet. The bread was too chewy and it got stuck and I had to throw up - ick. So bottom line, pizza ya, wrap nay.
Must admit, I've been feeling pretty proud of myself as well when it comes to the morning walking AND going to the gym. As someone who used to hate to exercise, I'm sort of trying to throw myself completely into it in the hopes of helping it stick!
I'm also continuing to go through a social readjustment as I moved from the city to the suburbs where my library not long before surgery so my social life is...different these days. I've also honestly found it a little difficult going out and not being able to eat/drink - now that I'm a little further out I know it will be easier to find things on a menu that work for me, but I haven't wanted to test myself too much yet!
Luckily I don't have a ton of evening work obligations and with no husband or kids - I can go to the gym pretty much whenever I want.
But your training session put me to shame!
