What's on the menu today, RNYers?
Good Morning Everyone, I hope everyone had a nice weekend.
Emily, the cauliflower pizza crust does sound good. Pizza is one of my biggest food "cravings" after all this time (luckily most of the others have disappeared). I'm getting ready for my trip to China/Korea and it looks like tuna packets and protein powder will be a must. Pam, I agree with Emily 100% LinkedIn and Indeed are the first two places I looked when searching for jobs.
I had a less than stellar weekend, very low protein numbers. So no big shock that I didn't lose anything. Time to get back on track!
Time since surgery: 4 months on Thursday
B - Siggi's Greek Yogurt
S - Tall Skinny mocha latte from Starbucks (a co-worker brought it in, it's a little high in carbs, but works with my plan for today)
L - Premier Protein Shake
D - Premier Protein Shake
V - On track
W - On track
E - Spin class
Totals: Cals - 580; Carbs - 45; Protein - 81
Have a great day everyone!
Thanks for the recommendation, Dodgergirl. I guess I need to update my LinkedIn, I haven't used it in ages. And Indeed sounds like a definite thing to try, I'm so old school that I automatically turned to Monster.com.
Have a wonderful day!

haha...I was using Monster.com too before a friend told me about indeed. To be fair, I've never seen an ad for indeed, and when you see the website you'll see it's super basic, and not flashy at all, but it does get the job done. I think it's all word of mouth, so don't worry, you're not out of the loop :) Good luck!
Oh wow I have never been to China/Korea! TDBull went recently and managed to work out a lot and keep her protein up. I find with traveling it's just hard to know what else is in the dish. You can feel good about eating chicken, but if it has starch and sugar and all kinds of stuff in the sauce, it's not as good for you as you think!
When I was gone for 2 weeks, I ate two tuna packets, Premier Protein shakes for five breakfasts and protein bars for lunch two different times. I also brought a shaker bottle to make Syntrax nectar shakes with water two or three times before a workout. And I brought my trusty water bottle with me everywhere :) I am sure you will do great! Plus, my bag was much lighter on the way home without the shakes lol. I put them in a big ziploc in case they opened in transit, fyi, but nothing happened.
SPIN CLASS?! I see that class at my gym and it scares me! I don't think my butt or legs can handle that yet!
Before I gained most of my weight I was an avid spinner. I really like it, with the caveat that the first few times you go, your lady bits will hate you afterwards. Even if you get a seat pad, that little seat is not female (or male) friendly. I find though, that after the first 3 times or so back, I build up a resistance and things get easier. I'm a big fan of exercise classes b/c I get really really bored on the elliptical and treadmill. I'm SO jealous of people who can be consistent on either machine, but I'm one of those who looks at the timer every 10 seconds and can't believe how little time has passed. So spinning and kickboxing are really the only cardio I've found I can stick with. I am trying to turn myself into an outdoor runner, that seems to be a little more interesting to me than the treadmill at this point.
Yeah...I used to also look at the time every 10 seconds. Now, I watch tv and that holds my attention :) I tend to watch Food Network. I know it probably looks ridiculous...I am surrounded by all of these fit people running and there is the overweight girl walking and watching Food Network. But I swear to god, it's the best deterrent to eating badly! I log every bite I take into MyFitnessPal, and when I see them making dishes...I think "OMG even when I am at goal and can have a "bite" of a dessert, I will NEVER be having that again!". For example, they made a creme brûlée and it was FASCINATING to me. It was made from something like 12 egg yolks, 2 cups of sugar, a stick of butter, and a quart of cream. No joke.
I am impressed by your spinning. Not only does it look painful, but even the fittest of people come out of the spin studio drenched in sweat and I hear the teacher yelling at them the entire hour (in a motivational way, of course).
I thought the same thing about the Food Network at first but then I noticed that at least 30% of the other tvs were on it too! Seriously!

Korea? Have fun! I miss it so much I spent almost a month there (in the winter...) and had a blast. I wish I had been able to explore more but my hubby was working and it was December and we had a 6 month old! Brrrr. I think a Korean BBQ place would be great place for you, lots of different kinda of meat and some veggies.
