What's on the menu today, RNYers?

Wait, I don't think I know about this jogging in place in the bathroom thing. Dodgergirl....tell me! Tell me!

But yes, I totally had to leave them in my trunk and I had basically forgotten about them until this post today - but otherwise, no way! I really like them and I've definitely been experiencing some head hunger lately so I didn't really trust myself not to give in.

Tried the chick peas last night and really liked them! I got a bag of Sea Salt and a bag of Sweet Cinnamon, I've only tried the Sea Salt so far. Half an ounce gives you a good many chickpeas and the crunch is so satisfying to me - I've really been craving it lately. I'm going to order some of the Saffron Road bags on Amazon though because there are some great sounding flavors!

haha...this is embarrassing, but it's my little trick to get my steps in each day.  At work, we only have one individual woman's stall (our office is mostly men, so there are only 4 woman who share that bathroom).  Anyways, I take my phone in the bathroom with me each hour and run in place until I hit a certain goal (usually b/w 400 -500 steps).  I used to try and run really fast for that period, but I kept coming out of the stall out of breath and I was worried about what my co-workers must think of me.  So, I've adjusted and now I just march in place at a quickish pace for my 4 - 500 steps.  It really does add up!  I usually am able to get between 2,000 - 3,000 extra steps a day :)

I don't post often because I eat pretty much the same thing every day:

B: Hot protein drink (I use chocolate Bluebonnet whey isolate, 1 scoop Click & vary with sugar free syrups - then some canned whip cream on top)

L: raw veggies (today is yellow pepper & baby carrots), protien (today boiled egg and one ounce cheese) and fresh fruit (today is raspberries, strawberries, blueberries and blackberries)

D: fage 2% unflavored greek yogurt with 1/2 c. pumpkin puree, one scoop vanilla whey isolate, pumpkin pie spice & sugar free caramel syrup - all stirred together and sprinkle cinnamon on top

then cut in slices an organic fuji apple and dip apple slices in the above - any left I just eat with a spoon

Snacks: usually nuts (no peanuts), always 1-2 ounces dark chocolate (70% or above).

It's boring - but my pouch is grouchy.  I do vary some - but this is what I eat most days.

Hey SiberianCat - it's great for us to see what someone at goal weight is eating :)  Congrats on being at a BMI of 20?!  That is awesome.  And it's funny, your menu basically follows my NUTs guidelines.  Protein, then fruit and non-starchy veggies.  I love that you always have dark chocolate as a snack :)  I don't crave sweets at all so I have steered clear of chocolate so far.  My caramel calcium bite at night helps.

Oh em gee, chocolate is not simply a "sweet"! Chocolate is CHOCOLATE, in all its glory! It is far more than a humble sweet. Living without chocolate is tantamount to being a zombie, shuffling through what can only sarcastically be called "life"...

(Yes, I love chocolate, can you tell?)

Thanks for posting, Penny. It's always good to see menus from people further out. We "dumb noobs" really appreciate the guidance, AND hearing that you eat chocolate!!

I actually read somewhere that we need 50-85 grams of carbs per day for optimal fat burn. less than that and the weight loss slows - I don't know whether or not this is true, just thought I'd share what I read somewhere in the interwebs.

B: 1oz deli turkey, 1 slice provolone, sliver of mashed avocado

L: 2oz roasted chicken pulverized with 1 1/2 tsp light mayo

D: not sure yet

V: on track

W: only 8oz so far, need to step that up

Hi Finding Feather - you must be pretty recently operated on?  Glad you're here posting!  And thanks for the 50-85 info.  I am going to make a concerted effort to at least get to 40-50 g of carbs.  And via fruit or yogurt or veggies.  Now that I am a newly obsessed cauliflower person, I have ideas about using it in lieu of mashed potatoes and rice.

I'm 3 1/2 weeks post-op, so brand new! I've been reading this forum for a while though, rarely posting. It's been such a treasure trove of info! I really enjoy these daily menu posts, so many good ideas! And I was thinking about trying some garlic mashed cauliflower too.

Oh forgot to include my protein shake for the day

S: syntrax nectar double stuffed cookie, 1 cup almond milk unsweetened.

The best part about being brand-new is that you have SOOOOO many amazing things ahead of you!  Seeing the numbers go down and especially having more NSVs (non-scale victories) than you know what to do with.  Loose seat belts on airplanes, walking further than ever before, having people at a deli you go to comment on how small you are getting, buying an XL shirt after being in a size 24 for so long...OMG I am getting excited and giddy for you!  I am so glad you find this post useful.

I haven't tried double stuffed cookie but YUM.  I am partial to mint cookie but would not turn down double stuffed cookie, that's for sure!
