how much do you think the no alcohol plays a role in your weight loss?  I gave up soda years ago, but for the first time in my life I've started enjoying a glass of wine occasionally.

I love wine...sigh...but if I am eating 800 calories in a day, I don't want 100+ to be from alcohol. Plus alcohol then leads me to bad eating decisions. I miss it a ton and I lead a very active social life so it's been tough. But I'm not great at moderation (see: starting weight!) so I've decided to try to follow my doctor's orders and not drink for at least a year. I may have had a hit off a joint once or twice since surgery ;) Hey-it's legal in many states! LOL

I will often  to cut down on my wine consumption ...  has to NOT be munchie pot though LOL!   And yes, I do live in a state where it is legal ...

It's true - pot can lead to cool ranch Doritos and that's a slippery slope! It's "decriminalized" in DC so one can have a small amount :) I know CO is so far ahead of the other states. Well, CO and CA!

That's what I love about here - the industry is so well evolved and it's usually good quality AND you get to choose what sort of pot you want - sleepy pot, wakey pot, munchie pot (Doritos woo hoo), or my personal favourite,  non munchie pot!   If you get a good budmaster, it's great to be able to choose what you want rather than having to take what you can score!

I am all for adding fruits and veggies! I feel so much better about my plan when I'm eating natural good clean food. I do drink protein shakes and bars but I love my fruits and veggies. Those are my snacks and I don't feel the least bit guilty. I think her suggestions are good ones. I don't get why these nuts can't give us a calorie goal. Mine basically said the same things about calories. I have to say I do feel better staying between 800-1000 cals a day. And I'm not exercising like you are. You rock!

Well had a great weigh in today. Lost 4.4 pounds this week. I have lost 102 pounds since my top weight and 91 pounds from surgery weight. Hard to believe some days. My brain has not caught up. I am addicted to shopping at good will for now. Love the challenge!

Another boring menu day. My meals are exactly the same as yesterday just switched out my snacks a little.  I tend to find something I like and stick with that until I get bored. I have leftover pizza so I will be eating that for at least a couple more days but it tastes so yummy to me.Taking pizza and stuff to my sons baseball team after practice tonight for his birthday. I find myself loving to serve and work during these festive times. I guess its my way to keep myself busy while everyone is eating.

I stopped at whole foods last night before church and picked up some crunchy chickpeas. Thanks to whoever posted the pic of these. They were delish. Now to try and experiment and make them myself since the kids liked them and want to eat mine. I tried falafel and chipotle. We liked the falafel the best.

I am going to have my raspberry snack shortly.  I am kind of excited to taste fruit again.  I haven't tried crunchy chickpeas but I am going to get some.  I think Joan (Getrdyfor50) gave instructions on yesterdays menu post.

Congrats on a 4.4 lb loss!!!!!!!!!!  I am holding at the same weight as last Friday.  Sigh...

I am as obsessed with the cauliflower crust pizza as you are!

Hi Everyone!  I finally got around to putting my picture in my profile (with the help of my daughter, of course).  Thanks to you, Em, I am now totally hooked on the Syntrax Mint Cookie Protein!  I LOVE it.  Since I am so close to my initial goal of weighing 150 lbs, my physician has advised me to keep going until I am at a "normal" BMI.  I feel that I have reasonably healthy goals and will know when I achieve my perfect goal for me.

I am 8 months out.

B:  Greek yogurt, blueberries, ground flax seed and a sprinkle of granola

S:  Syntrax Mint Cookie shake with Almond Milk

L:  Turkey and cheese roll up, 1/2 banana

D:  Ham and steamed carrots

Vitamins and Water on target

E:  30 min. walk and weight training
