What's on the menu today, RNYers?
Hi OH friends! I hope those of you here in the US enjoyed having a three day Memorial weekend. I was sure to thank the servicemen I know for their service.
Topic for today - transfer addiction from eating to shopping! I am pretty sure that my shopping habits qualify as an addiction. Anyone else experiencing this??? I realized as I was getting dressed to go out on Sunday night that none of my SHOES from last summer fit. Did my feet lose weight??? Yep, so off to DSW I went and $200 later...sigh...
I did ok with my eating this weekend. I feel like my calories were creeping up towards 1,000 but protein numbers were good. I did have a bit of an epiphany on Sunday. This past week I had 4 50-minute personal training sessions (packing them in because I have some travel coming up again) and then Sunday I went to the gym to do 50 minutes on the treadmill and another 10 minutes of strength training. As I was on the treadmill, I thought about how STRONG I am. Regardless of what the (mother*ck*ing) scale says, I cannot lose sight of the fact that I wake up early on the weekends and GO TO THE GYM. It feels good. I hope you are all tracking these NSVs and not just relying on the scale.
Time Since Surgery: 5 months 2 weeks-ish
B: Protein shake - brewed a cup of strong French Roast keurig last night over two ice cubes and put in fridge. This morning added two scoops of Click Mocha and shook vigorously.
B2: A piece of frittatta I made yesterday with egg whites, crab meat, sharp cheddar, artichokes, and sautéed shallots on top. YUM
L: Boar's Head deli turkey (3 oz) with 3 pickle spears
S: Before my 5 pm training, I will have 1.5 oz of tuna fish and 3 oz of mango (trying to have a snack and some carbs so I don't pass out while working out)
D: Grilled chicken and mashed cauliflower that I prepared last night so I have no excuse to not eat well!
V: On it now
W: Will make it
E: 50 minute personal training session, then 30 minutes treadmill. Ugh when I leave the gym it will be 90 and humid. I hate that!
Hope you all had a great weekend and this is a four day week!!!! (Sorry, Daisy I know you have a five day week boooooo).
What's on your menu today?
Good morning! It's been quite a weekend here - from throwing up multiple meals to buying and fitting in 3 pairs of size 16 pants to resisting the siren song of (unplanned) chips and guac! While I haven't let my shopping reach the level of transfer addiction yet, Em, I can totally see it coming!
I spent some time on Saturday going through EVERY piece of clothing I own right now. I have a HUGE mound of things to take to Good Will, one storage tube of things that still are just a little too small, and a very bare dresser and closest. Honestly though, it feels pretty good! Between now and maintenance, cheap is the name of the game, but I'm really looking forward to rebuilding my wardrobe with a mission! Today I'm wearing my first Gwynnie Bee piece, a really cute lace top with a peplum. I'm loving it - especially since I've paired it with one of the size 16 pants I bought!
I've got a hair cut this evening and I still go into the city to my pre-surban-move days salon, so it's a bit of a schlep. I'm hoping I'll be able to make it to a 7:30 Aqua Zumba class, but I'm not sure timing will allow - if not it's the elliptical for me!
Time since surgery: 9 weeks
B: 2oz greek yogurt, 1 tablespoon wheat germ, 1 veggie sausage pattie
S: 12oz Nectar Lemon Tea protein shake
L: 17 turkey pepperoni slices (30 seconds in the microwave, crispy and delicious), 1 string cheese, .5oz roasted chickpeas, 1oz unsweetened applesauce
Pre Gym S: Babybel Lite
D: Turkey Ricotta meatballs with tomato sauce and 1 teaspoon parm cheese, steamed carrots
S: 12oz Nectar Lemon Tea protein shake
TOTALS: Calories 723, Protein 98, Carbs 35, Fat 24 - After last week's discussions regarding calories intake I'm going to experiment with being a little higher this week, in the 650-750 range and see how it goes
V: started
W: none yet, need to get a move on!
E: gym, gym, gym
Anny - the pic isn't displaying :( I am dying to see your pic so will you try to upload it again? Pam was going to do a blog post on how to post a pic. I want to see the peplum top and maybe add it to my closet! Congrats on size 16 pants!!! That is my next goal. I am in 18s now. Hopefully by July 1st. But I don't know if 10 lbs will do it.
I am also beyond impressed that you would do water aerobics after a hair cut. I usually try to rock my stylist's styling for a couple of days lol
Chips and guac are my siren song as well. Ugh. I ate probably 6 or 8 tbsp of guac on Sun night, but no chips. Just with a fork! It was at a new restaurant that I love. The weather was perfect. I love chips but they are like crack for me!
Go for the higher range - I am losing weight and feeling less dizzy with my calories now being 800 or 850 all the way up to 1000. I certainly don't want my body to settle at only losing weight with 700 calories a day!
Do you mind posting your turkey ricotta meatball recipe? Is it just ground turkey, ricotta cheese, and maybe an egg for binder and then bake or pan sauté? I could definitely get on board with those! AND YES the turkey pepperoni in the microwave are certainly crispy and good!
Have a great day and repost that pic please! We want to see your super cute skinniness!
Hey Em, here's a link to the recipe I used for the meatballs: http://centercutcook.com/turkey-ricotta-meatballs/ I don't know that they would actually need the breadcrumbs, but I did use them. I also made mine about 1", so I got a lot more than the recipe says, 30 instead of just 18. Think when I make them again I will aim for bigger.
Yesterday I did indulge in 5 baked tortilla chips with 1 tablespoon of guac, but I had planned for it, so I didn't feel guilty or bad about it!
Trying the picture again - let me know if it works (from my home computer it wasn't displaying but here at the Library it shows up, so I never know!)

Thanks Em! It is totally a flattering top - you're right about how the peplum is AMAZING for giving a waist definition. I also did the "stand slightly at an angle" thing to look slimmer LOL!
I forgot to mention - I love, love, love how my stylist cuts my hair, but I never like how she styles it, so I almost never keep it how she did it. Ridiculous, I know.

Adorable! You and Emily just might make me rethink peplum tops.

Go for it Pam! I've always been curvy, even at my heaviest, but right now I'm super curvy and actually feel kind of hot - the peplum REALLY accentuates that and I love it!
