What's on the menu today, RNYers?
Feather, you seem to be maintaining good control over your menu. Good for you!

Long work day today. I am dreaming about hikes I have planned for tomorrow and thursday. Can't wait!
B: almonds and raisins
S: tea with soy milk
L: black eyed peas with scallions, tomatoes and avocado on top
S: hummus with broccoli and 5 oz dole whip (this dairy free ice cream, it is my weekly treat, yummy!)
D: 2 turkey kielbasa with tomatoes and broccoli
S: depends if I am hungry, maybe almonds, again. Sick of almonds!
Louise, remind me, how far out from surgery are you? And good for you, thinking ahead to those hikes. Enjoy them!

Isn't that odd? I've found the same thing! I told my doctor yesterday that I've turned into a reptile, apparently: I will seek out the warmest spot I can find lately!

Hello, all! Stressful day today: My mother-in-law's sister and nephew are coming in for a one week visit, and it will fall on me to get them where they need to go, do some cooking for them, make sure they have what they need at my MIL's house, etc. That's all ok, as I really like the sister, but it's just the extra stress that will come from my MIL while they're here. Don't need it, don't want it, but can't send it back. Oh, well, all I can do is just make it through the week they're here. I'm picking them up from the airport in a couple of hours, and it will be nice to see them...not so nice to see the MIL, but it's a package deal I suppose.
My visit with my PCP went well yesterday. My labs were pretty good, according to her all good, but the iron and ferritin are a little lower than I'd like to see. They're not far off the previous set, but we're going to repeat them in four months and see if there's a downward trend. I'm glad I've learned what I have from here about supplements, labs, etc. over the past few months! So, with my labs all being within normal limits, my doctor has no idea why I'm so tired all the time and in pain from exercising. Her advice, back off on the exercise a bit (done already) and just keep working at it, but gradually. I can't go from being a bump on a log to a triathlete overnight, it's going to take time for my body to adapt. Ok, I can buy all that, and will keep working at it, and try not to be impatient. If I don't see real improvement in another four months, though, I'm going to ask her to start checking a little deeper to see if we can figure it out.
So today's plan: Water - 80 ounces in so far, doing well on that. Supplements - On track. Exercise - Will be hauling suitcases in and out of the car. I may do a little walking as well. Menu -

You are so kind to take care of your not so nice's MIL's sister and son :) Seriously, that's so kind, and I am sure they will really appreciate it. Try to let the MIL's rude comments roll off your back :) Easier said than done, I know.
It sounds like your doc had good advice. It's true - our bodies can only take so much trauma lol. First you are starving yourself, then you suddenly start walking for an hour a day and getting down on the floor and lifting weights...I think easing into things will be a good strategy for you. And hey, on days you don't go to the gym, you are still so active. Did you used to spend weekend days running errands, building things at home, etc? Your everyday is so much more active! I forget, do you wear a FitBit? I can't recommend it enough. I bet you get in a few thousand steps now just in your normal day.
Glad to hear your labs are good! My doc takes blood (or sends you to have blood taken) at the one year appt. I am not seeing him again until one year has passed. I can't even imagine where I will be in December!!!!!!!
Have a good trip to the airport, slinging suitcases, and welcoming your guests! Em
