What's on the menu today, RNYers?

Hi OH friends!  Not sure if it's diet fatigue, us being active in the warmer weather or what, but this board is kind of dead and this post is not so lively these days either...I guess I will keep monitoring it and if it seems like no one is interested, I certainly don't want to beat a dead horse.  Is that the right analogy?  LOL!

In great news, I won the dip contest at work yesterday - everyone loved my healthy mediterranean dip and thought it was clever to serve it on cucumber slices.  Spreading healthy food one day at a time :)  (And I didn't think I stood a chance against a jalapeño popper cream cheese dip!).

Time Since Surgery: 5.5 months

B: Syntrax matrix mint cookie with unsweetened almond milk

L: Leftover turkey ricotta meatballs (2) with mashed cauliflower.  Meatballs are from Friday, mash from Sunday.  Hope I don't die!

S: If I need one, I have Boar's Head turkey and I have mango chunks

D: What else?  Cauliflower crust pizza with pesto and turkey pepperoni

V/W: On it

E: Walked .7 miles to gym, walked on treadmill for .6 miles, then did personal training for 50 minutes.  All before 9 am!  Phew!

Totals are looking like 800 calories, 77 g of protein, 31 g carbs (without a snack).

What's on your menu?  I am in a bit of a rut right now.  I am about to do a bunch of travel so I guess a rut is ok as long as I am on plan :)

Nooooooooooooo! Even though it isn't as active some days, this post is great! I definitely think we should keep it going.

Congratulations on winning the dip contest! Your colleagues are going to start getting jealous though, didn't you win the last contest hosted? The cucumber slices as crackers ARE a good idea, that's for sure.

My scale finally moved 1/2 pound this morning and I can't tell you how happy that made me!

Time since surgery: 11 weeks

B: Green Chili Cheese Puff

S: 12oz Nectar Lemon Tea protein shake and coffee with about 2 tablespoons of half and half

L: cottage cheese and cheese crisps that I didn't eat yesterday because I got called into a meeting and had to eat my emergency protein bar

Pre Work Out S: string cheese

D: 3 Turkey Ricotta meatballs, tomato sauce, parm cheese

S: Nectar Lemon Tea protein Shake

TOTALS: Calories 800, Protein 92, Carbs 38, Fat 32

V: started

W: on track

E: my colleague bailed on walking this morning, but I still did about 1.5 miles, there was an extremely handsome, extremely fit dude running like mad this morning at the track - in short running shorts and NO SHIRT and GLISTENING with sweat, it made my walk quite enjoyable. Heading to the Y this evening I do believe.

Experimenting with 800 calories for a week or so to see if it does anything to my loss, fingers crossed.

Um I was gonna comment "congrats!" on the half pound loss, and then I read a bit more and I was gonna comment on the turkey ricotta meatballs since I am having that today too (thanks to you) and then I read a bit more and let's discuss the glistening dude!  LOL!  That is a motivator for sure.  I would have walked a little longer :)  There is a trainer at my gym who is ridiculously hot.  I purposefully didn't choose him as my trainer because I knew I would probably trip over machines and not be able to speak.  But he is about the only eye candy at my gym.  It is rather motivating, isn't it?!

I am wearing another Gwynnie Bee shirt today and it's so super cute.  Already got a lot of compliments.  I hope your next shipment comes soon!  I love having new items in my closet!

The turkey ricotta meatballs are pretty good for sure. I'm glad you've enjoyed them and they do freeze well, so I recommend that as well.

Let me just say, this dude was running SO fast for SO long, I was totally impressed. He must have like a 5 or 6 minute mile. And I hear you on the hot trainer. I'm getting closer and closer to being brave enough to talk to the trainers at the Y, but I totally think I need a female. Because like you, I think I'd be speechless!

So I have a male trainer but he's just less hot than the crazy hot one :)  I have found that male trainers push me harder for some reason.  But different people have different preferences :)

Definitely. I think I'm a bit overly sensitive to that sort of thing...

Here in Philly there are at least a dozen different bariatric programs, so I decided first that I wanted to do Temple's program and then there are two surgeons, a male and a female. They both have amazing stats and reputations, but I ended up going with the female surgeon, when it came down to it, I was just more comfortable with her.

So your menu made me drool first and then you go and post about drool worthy eye candy and I'm just over here looking like a goober. LMBO. Thanks for the post, I'm pretty sure this made my whole day!

LOL, glad I made you smile! You'll be eating more interesting things soon too, don't despair. I know in my first few weeks I felt like I would never be eating really food again, but in the blink of an eye it was time to transition.

I hope the hunky runner makes the track his regular spot so I can see him more often!

Let's hear it for handsome, fit, glistening dudes, LOL!

Glad to hear your scale is moving again, Anny. It's so hard to hold on to the thought that it WILL happen, the weight WILL go if we just stick to the plan, isn't it? I keep telling myself to believe it, that it will happen, just keep on keeping on. But trying to override years of self-programming with new programming is damn hard! Good for you for sticking to your guns, you can (and WILL) do this!

Thanks Pam! It really was a rough week with the scale not moving - I'm trying to do some of that "reprogramming" you mention, but as we all know, the mental part of this is the hardest!

How's it going with the MIL, et. al. so far?
