Good morning, OH friends!  The people have spoken - looks like the post is still valuable to some, even if traffic has been light recently.  So let's keep it up!

I am totally uninspired today by my empty fridge...but I can't go shopping because I am only home 4 more days between now and June 24th!  So I am trying to organize dinner plans out :)

B: Syntrax matrix protein shake made with unsweetened almond milk

L: Guess I will use this package of tofu in the fridge and sauté it up

D: I am hoping for shrimp fajitas?

Totals: No idea yet but I am usually between 800 - 1000 calories, 70ish g of protein

E: 50 minutes personal training at lunchtime

V: Just took 'em

W: Working on it

Share what you are having today!  Em

That's a lot of travel, Em! I'm headed to a 4-day training next week (the week after? I should probably check on that LOL) and am starting to get nervous about it already. As far as I can tell, we're in a hotel conference center the ENTIRE time and all the meals are with the training, so I think it might be rough. I'm driving to it though, so it will be easier to bring along some essentials.

I've recently developed a love of morning coffee - I'm on again, off again with coffee. Can someone remind me what the deal with caffeine is? I remember that my program recommends caffeine free tea and decaf coffee - but I don't remember why!

Time since surgery: 11 weeks

B: 4oz greek yogurt with 1.5T wheat germ

S: Coffee with creamer, Nectar lemon tea protein shake

L: Green Chili Cheese Puff, cheese crisps

Pre Workout S: string cheese, roasted chick peas

D: Omelet with turkey sausage crumbles, peppers, onions, and colby jack cheese

S: Nectar lemon tea protein shake, maybe a sugar free popsicle!

TOTALS: Calories 797, Protein 96, Carbs 56 (a little high today), Fat 22

V: started

W: must get started

E: water aerobics night!

I'm sure that many of you, like me, have bought protein powder or the like and then ended up thinking it was gross, yes? Has anyone come up with something to do with the 99% full tub of what you don't like?

Hey Anny!  Yeah, I am not thrilled about so much travel but I know I can make it work.  And I will get a TON of steps in, especially my 48 hours in Paris!  I bet you can find options for breakfast and dinner at the hotel (I find there is always eggs and bacon and fruit in the am, and dinner always has a protein) but sometimes lunch at a hotel/conference is tough (sandwiches, for example).  So maybe bring 4 Quest bars or something, just in case :)  I also tend to bring packets of protein powder in case my protein numbers are not great.

My program is not super strict about caffeine.  Caffeine is dehydrating, but it's not like I drink 3 coffees a day and no water, you know?  I have 1 or 2 coffees and then at least 64 ounces of water on top of that.

Sadly I have given away hundreds of dollars of protein powder.  I have not figured out a use.  I am curious to see what others say!

Who do you give the protein powders to, Em? That's what I'm wondering!

I guess maybe if I ever go back to the support group at my program I could bring them...

Could we trade jobs for a while? 48 hours in Paris, nice!

I just got a survey about the food and there are some really good options actually. I'll definitely be taking apart some sandwiches at lunch time, but it shouldn't be too rough.

Hey Anny,

You totally inspired my dinner tonight.  I wasn't sure what I was going to make myself, and your omelet sounds amazing.  Thanks for the great idea!

Depend on protein powder - I used mine in baking - instead of flour I used protein powder and bake cookies or muffins. (check eggface web page)

Adding extra spices (i.e. pumpkin pie?) I was able to mask the flavor of the powder.

Good morning, Em and Anny! Today will be...interesting, to say the least. I will not be able to plan a thing, as we have to take over hosting my husband's aunt and cousin. They flew in from California to visit with Mark's mother, and to make a long story short after spending 24 hours with her both the aunt and the cousin are ready to head home. They have super discounted airfares, though, so they may not be able to make any changes to their return flight, so for the moment it looks like they're stuck here until next Wednesday. We had to pick up the cousin from my MIL's house last night, and today we're going to rescue the aunt. We're trying to keep our sense of humor about the whole thing, so we're referring to it as an "extraction" from behind enemy lines!

I really wasn't planning on having two houseguests, but we refuse to let them get hotel rooms. That's not an expense they need. The good news is, now there are other family members besides just us who know that my MIL is certifiably crazy!

I'll do the best I can today in regards to food intake, bu****er and vits will at least be taken care of. The rest will just have to be the best choices I can make, and I'll fill in the blanks later on to see how I did.

Guys, enjoy your day! Em, surely you can get some takeaway something that you can put in your fridge for the couple of days you have left before your travel? And Anny, enjoy your water aerobics! I was planning my first go at the class in my gym today, but looks like my schedule has been shot all to hell. Oh, well, like they say in my hubby's workplace, Semper Gumby! (Stay flexible!)
