What's on the menu today, RNYers?

So you had an oops moment with being on plan, the terrific part is that it didn't derail you, you got back on plan. Way to go!

I now have no restrictions on my diet. I had some frozen peas, carrots, corn, green beans the other night, and man oh man was that good! I never thought I'd miss veggies. Albeit, they were starchy with carrots and corn, but my Dr. actually wants me to have a little starch in my meals.

B: 1.5 oz boars head turkey, sliver avocado, 1tb reduced fat cheese

L: 1/4 cup FF refried beans, 2tb ground beef, 1 leaf of boston lettuce

D: ?

W: goal of 50oz

V: on track

E: hike, swim, or treadmill - not sure which yet.

YAY!  You are off liquids and soft foods!  You must be so excited :)  I know what you mean...sometimes I have an asparagus spear or a couple of brussels sprouts and they taste soooo good!  Now that I am taking care of my body, I look at food differently - I make sure that what I eat is NOURISHING rather than filling an empty void (for the most part lol) and I think that makes veggies taste even better!

Hello, WOTMTR posters! I've been away for a bit, dealing with some family trauma (ugh! Don't ask!) but that seems to have calmed down now, so yay! Spent the weekend recovering and trying to take care of my hubby, as it's his family that's been having a bit of a kerfuffle, so he needed some serious down time to recuperate. Meanwhile, I've lost a couple more pounds, and officially am now past the halfway point of my weight loss. I went clothes shopping on Saturday (amazing how often that's happening these days!) and ended up buying two pairs of jeans in size 16W. I haven't been in a 16 since high school! And these weren't Lane Bryant jeans, either. For the first time since I can't remember when, they were Gloria Vanderbilts, and they fit! Not fit like "I have to hold my breath", but really fit, and are comfortable. I was on cloud nine when I got home.

Sounds like everyone had a decent weekend at the very least, yay for that. Other than the family drama nothing new to report here except for a new pet...meet Soup.

Why, you ask, is he named Soup? Good question! It's because we have three cats, so what better name for a fish?   The flash on my camera phone washes out his color a bit, he's actually a dark intense blue with a violet stripe on his fins. He's a very happy betta at the moment, as you can see, he's already working on a bubble nest. He'll be looking for a lady fish very soon!

So, getting back on the WLS life bandwagon, today stayed pretty well within plan. Supplements - all taken except last two doses. Water - 100 ounces, will get to about 120 before bedtime. Exercise - nothing today, off day with a personal training appointment tomorrow morning. Food was/is as follows:

Except for the sodium (yikes!) all went pretty well, but I'd like to see a few more calories. I may fit in a snack before bed.

See you all tomorrow!

Hi Pam!  Wow, more than half way. That is so great! Loving the size 16, too. Hope all is well with your husband and his family. Family drama is the worst. Good to see you here.

Soup is pretty cute for a fish! When we were young and got a goldfish, my brother and I has to put a piece of screen over the bowl and fasten it with a rubber band to keep the cat out. Clearly the car quickly figured out how to use his paw and PING! off the screen went lol.

Awesome news that the family drama has not derailed you from eating well :) And size 16 jeans!!! Holla! That's so freaking awesome. Seriously. I need to go try on some new jeans. I have one pair and it's an 18 and it's too baggy. Maybe I will try Kohl's. Thanks for the idea!

For the record, I never watch my sodium. I'm sure I should...sigh...

Hi everybody! I have missed all of you and this post. I have been so busy since I came back from visiting my mom that I have had a hard time fitting everything into each day! Emily, you can definitely lose your 33lbs by your birthday. You are very dedicated and determined. I know you can do it!

So nice to hear everyone's weekend events. It was a beautiful weekend, wasn't it? My husband and I went for a bike ride. It was so fun. My husband was one glistening man after that ride but I don't think he would fall in the Anny Bananny category of shirtless glisteners, lol.  I love Manny's menu. Lunch-meatball. Dinner-meatball. That's my kind of eating.

I finally joined that gym I was talking about and went today after work. Treadmill and machines today just to get the feel of it. Going to add some free weights once I get in the swing. I don't tell most people this because I figure they won't believe me but in my 30's during a skinny time, I worked out at Gold's gym and I loved it back then. Then Pow. Nursing school and that was the end of exercising and the beginning of the many years of unhealthy living. I forgot how much I loved lifting.

My food today: Down 51lbs About 10 weeks post op.

B-EAS protein shake with soy milk

L-left over food from Patron Mexican restaurant (sat night)--appro 2 oz beef in a spicy sauce and appro 1/3 cup refried beans. (I have no idea of stats)

S- 1/2 c FF plain greek yogurt with splenda and cinnamon

D-chicken salad with 3 oz baked chicken, 1Tmayo, tsp mustard and some fresh basil chopped.

S- mini baby bell cheese

Didn't total the stats since I don't know what they are exactly due to Mexican food.

Happy Monday to you all!

Kim

Happy Monday to you, Kim! I've been wondering where you've been since I knew you were back from taking care of your mom. I'm glad you're just busy although it sounds like it's a little overwhelming! Awesome that you are fitting in exercise and holy crap - 51 lbs in 10 weeks is amazing!!! Go you!!!

I also love the gym - how did that happen?! I'm glad you've joined - you said a few times that you were feeling inspired and I can see it now...a super lean and toned Kim! So excited for you. I bet your husband loves how much energy you have again :)
