Just bought a really pretty white Nordic Ware microwave dishwasher safe popcorn popping bowl from Amazon Prime for $7.00! My popcorn situation is solved. Just have to figure out how many kernels for how long in the microwave. THANKS GRIM FOR THE TIP!

I use a brown lunch paper bag with 1/4 c kernels and microwave for about 3 minutes, or until you hear a long pause between pops.
