What's on your menu today, RNYers? Tuesday!
Hey Everyone!
I ended up not having a great eating day yesterday. But, I'm going to get back on it today. Also, on the silver lining side of things, it does amuse me what a "bad" eating day looks like now vs. pre-op. I still make way better choices and everything is in moderation, it's just more like I let too many carbs in when I'm trying to stay below 40. So, when looking at it from the "big picture" I feel ok.
Sorry Em, I've always heard of Joe's but never actually eaten there. I don't know how you feel about shrimp ****tail, but that's always my safe WLS meal at a fish place, b/c I know that the shrimp isn't marinated in anything and it's easy to control what I eat. Just a though...
Time since surgery: 6.3 months
B - Fage 2% with Chia seed cereal (2 tbsp)
L - Mexicali salad from TJ (I love this salad and it's so easy to grab and go). I typically can only eat 1/2
D - Premier Protein
V/W - On track
E - None :( I'm getting my hair done tonight, so I won't be doing much. I did however sign up for a pilates class with a friend on Thursday. I paid for the whole month in advance in order to motivate myself to go. My friend is going with me so I think it'll be good for accountability. I'm excited and nervous at the same time :)
Have a great day everyone!
Hey DG - I am right there with you! My "bad" day now is like 1300 calories and a good amount of exercise. I am pretty sure I used to eat Pad Thai for lunch that was 1300 calories, and then have pizza for dinner. So at least our tool helps us keep it in check, but I always have that fear that I will go back to terrible eating habits. I think a little fear is healthy (at least for me). Great that you are back at it today!
Next time I am at TJs I will have to check out the Mexicali salad!
Hey ladies! It looks like folks are having a pretty good day today. We arrived safely downtheshore (only a little more than an hour's drive, which is awesome). The house we stay in is only about 10 houses from the beach, which is awesome - we can go down to the beach with just a towel and a few toys, hang out for 45 minutes, then run home when we feel like it. This is perfect for me since I don't actually love the beach itself. The Goose is having a really fun time and is much braver this year in the waves. She even was doing some body surfing!
I have my day planned out, though we're headed to the board walk over at Ocean City, NJ tonight, so I know I'm going to "sneak" a few french fries and maybe a couple bites of ice cream - I'm ok with that though. I'm going to pack a Quest bar though for my actual dinner.

Hey Anny - that's awesome that you are having fun at the beach! How good does it feel to wear a non plus-size bathing suit and not have chub rub walking to the beach and back?! LOL
You're on vacation - enjoy it - savor those few bites - track it - and you are obviously making good choices during the day. Rock on :)
Hi Jam! I just use that term generally for greek yogurt with "stuff." Most often what I do is 0% plain yogurt with a packet of Splenda, .5T chia seeds and 2T sliced almonds. I sometimes use a different but or some Fiber One. A lot of people like to add fruit, but that isn't my thing.

Kathy, I don't know you, but I do know me. I wasn't being cute - I was being honest. I knew I was going to go off plan a bit this day, but I was thinking about how far I was willing to go and what adjustments to my caloric intake I was going to compromise to allow for that. This post helps me stay accountable for my choices and that's what I was doing with my post.
It sounds like you must be on plan 100% of the time, congratulations on having such great compliance for so long. Keep up the great work.
