common bile duct??

Has anyone else had the problem with their common bile duct getting enlarged and engorged after surgery? Thats what iam told is causing my stomach spasms... Just curious if anyone else has had this issue?? Thanks

Can you explain what your doing little more. And what did your doctor say can be done?

my doctor told me i had to go in and have it scraped clean?? I don't really know until i see the gi doc. and i am still waiting for a referral.  My stomach feels like it goes into a very painful spasm. and my upper abdomen will hurt. I have alot of tenderness right under my breastbone .  Ultrasound showed that the common bile duct was enlarged/engorged. 

I believe Heidi had an issue with hers. Not sure if it is the same thing, but you can ask her. HERE was one of her posts on the subject.

Mine was blocked.  My doctors believe the first episode was in 2010, I was under the impression the stone had passed then, but my surgeon believes it went back upstream and didn't cause the blockage/excruciating pain again until June of this year.  My duct was not enlarged nor was the nipple, the duct was blocked by one larger stone and lots of sludge.  I had to have surgery through my excluded stomach to perform the ercp to open the duct and clear the stone.  The nipple or end of the duct as enlarged in case I form more stones which they say I probablt will.  I wish you good luck as it took two rounds of hospitalizations to finally get the surgery done with two groups, a bariactric surgeon and a gastronenerologitst

O wow! Im hoping its not bad. I was told sludge as well... Idk what'll happen! As soon as i see the gi doc i will know more!
