Got too big for my britches
Papaya enzyme chewable tablets will help break down protein in brisket if that's what gave you a "stuck pain"? I have used papaya about four times in the last two years all related to either not chewing meat well enough or making the poor judgment to eat too much. Friendly advice: My post-op plan says to eat protein first, non-starchy vegetable second, and an occasional fruit.
Awesome idea, selhard! Papaya enzymes will be on my next list for gnc! I did do the meat first, and not much at all. I think I just ate too fast and didn't chew long enough. Was that dumping syndrome?? I thought ds was brought on by high fat, high sugar foods?? Whatever it was I don't care to repeat it!! Thanks for the papaya tip!
Definitely not Dumping syndrome. I had the joy of experiencing THAT little complication when I learned the hard way that "no sugar added" does not equal sugar free! Anyway, as someone who has suffered through a stricture and also a terrible learning curve in slowing down and chewing properly, what you had was a failure to chew properly. The food just won't move and it has to come up to get relief. I am going to get some papaya enzyme to see if that helps the next time I have issues. And there will be a next time because I am apparently a slow learner!
