So this is a shout out to all the WLS veterans. It seems to me that we all recieved many enlightened bits of advice along our own journeys so looking back what would be the biggest bit of knowledge you would like to pass on?

For me the most comforting piece of advice I recieved was not to let the stalls bog me down too much. That as long as I kept to the straight and narrow the weightloss would come.

I know that I would never have been as successful as I have been without the kind support of others. Let's pay it forward and share the knowledge :-)

Biggest bit of knowledge?  The list is long, picking is tough...probably the comfort I get seeing the same veterans giving the same advice over and over.  I need the repetition to STICK in my feeble mind!  (btw, how long post-op "qualifies" as a veteran?)

Speaking of feeble mind, I didn't say what repeated advice helps me remember!  It would be number-related things like preferred lab result numbers, supplement dosages, ounces, grams, time-frames, uuuggghhh.  Anybody want to post some drill sheets for us to practice :)

Three years because you have finished the honeymoon stage, am familiar with maintenance, and dealt with rebound regain issues.

Oh I think anything anyone has to share is always welcome....

I'm not even a year out myself.  Though it's amazing how sure I am that this was the best decision of my life

Losing weight is easy as long as you follow the plan. Maintenance - part 2 years - is a *****  Some rules don't apply anymore. Some do. Finding out for works for YOU is critical. Not 2 people are the same.

It may take a long time to find out what does it take to be able to maintain long term, day after day, week after week.   I am 6.5 years out - still learning.
