Ripped Open Pouch?
I'm back. I've not been accepted to the new doctor yet. My pain is still present but it is intermittent in intensity. I don't think I've leaked anything but I'm still very distended. Thanks every one for your responses, it has been eyeopening to see there is still RNY support out there.
The old surgeon has referred me to someone in the Chicago area, which is a bit of a drive but I'm totally going. I have requested my records get sent to the new doctor to review before he even accepts me as a patient. It's been over 3 weeks now since I've requested an appointment.
Since I've gotten your responses, I'm trying to change my eating/drinking habits. Thank you guys. My local emergency departments do not at all understand bariatrics. I'm trigger shy to show up to any of the 3 hospitals local to me. I work in health care and know these places have no idea how to care for RNY. None of the surgeons have knowledge to care for me.
If I get bad enough, I plan to drive up to Mayo Clinic or Chicago Loyola. I will report to their ER and go from there. I take a lot of Prilosec, Tums, and GasX to buy my time until I am accepted by a competent practitioner.
