What is a Versaclimber?!  If it's a stairclimber then GO YOU!  I see people on those and omg they scare me.  My gym doesn't have one.  How is your new gym?  Is it motivating you?

You always eat all the foods I love.  Yum to everything on your menu!

Curious - your family was against surgery but are they supportive now?  Thankfully mine was all supportive.  I think they just want me around forever and so they hid their fears and were supportive.  I can't imagine you had to go through this on your own :(

The versaclimber is like the stair stepper, but it has arms too, so your arms and legs are going at the same time and get some toning action.  I used it back in college when I wanted to drop serious weight, b/c you SWEAT!  It's a torture device, but it gets results.

My family is supper supportive now.  Some of their lack of support early on was due to the fact that I had one aunt who had the surgery then her transfer addiction led to alcoholism, and then a family friend who had a number of complications (he was 70 when he had the surgery though, so there's no telling if the complications were all RnY related).  Now, they are 100% on board and give me lots of credit and love.  It's been nice to show them if you follow the rules, this can be an amazing tool...b/c I have a number of family members who are very obese and I'm trying to inspire them :)

I totally think the VersaClimber is a torture device and YES I have seen some sweat pouring off those folks!  I am impressed you are going for it!

I have some people in my family who would benefit from it as well - including my own brother :(  I would never preach WLS to anyone, but if people ask me, I am super informative and helpful.  Everyone needs to come to their own decision.  I am glad your family is on board now!

It's actually kind of funny, b/c when I first had surgery I didn't tell anyone in my life (other than my parents the week before).  It was my dad who was the most against it...anyways, about 3 months in after I had already had already started to see some results, he called me out of the blue and said, "I think you need to tell ppl you had this surgery, it's been amazing for you and you look amazing and healthy and happy, and I think you should share that with people, so they see the good side of it and those stories get out there too".  It was kind of a cool moment, and he's actually been my biggest cheerleader since then.  It has inspired me to be WAY more open about surgery and it's benefits than I was at first.  Also, I had this weird shame that I got to place with my weight, where I needed surgery, but I don't feel that way any more.  I feel like, it was something I needed help with, and I got help and got control back in my life...it's no different than anyone else who gets treatment for an illness.  So, now (if people ask, b/c I don't want to be preachy either), I'm really pretty proud of it and I don't have any shame.  This surgery gave me back my life and health and I'm proud of what I've been able to achieve by using my tool, it's been work (as we all know), but it's been worth every second!

Wow, you are an inspiration Dcgirl, I hope I have as good a report on my first anniversary. We have similar starting weights at surgery. Enjoy the bliss!

Been an interesting time, Too many parties, not enough exercising. Even though I can't eat much and try to make right choices when i am there, the weight loss has been slow. That 100lb lost number has been teasing with me. :)

So hard to drink cold shakes when it's cold out. I read online you can heat the premier protein, so I tried it this morning. Wasn't bad, I added a little creamer and then frothed it up with one of those mini frothing sticks. It was good.

Also satisfied my pizza craving this week with a low carb pita from Toufayan. Found it in the deli department at my local Stop n' Shop. 9 net carbs, but what I really liked 11g protein. Found it much more satisfying than ones made on flatout bread. Added some ricotta, parm and mozzarella. Had 20g protein for the whole pizza. So it worked.

B: Premier Protein Drink -Hot

L: PB on celery

S: yogurt and cantelope

D: Trader Joe's crabmeat stuffed flounder

S: ?

Walking

water/liquids 30oz in already.

I loooooove the crabmeat stuffed flounder!  YUM!  I add Old Bay (not that I need the sodium but I love the flavor!).  I will have to find this Toufayan wrap.  I tried a low carb wrap from netrition and it was WAY too dense for me.  I like the Flat Out Light wraps - I take half, toast it in the oven til it's kinda crispy and then broil it with sauce and cheese and turkey pepperoni.

Sorry that 100 lbs is taunting you.  Keep on trucking, that's what I told myself pretty much everyday this year lol!

It is 5:00 PM in London and dark and cold!  At 3:00 took a long walk by the Thames river as the sun was setting over the bridges and everything was glazed pink...really stunning...and walking the mile and a half circuit without even realising when I was 5 minutes from home was amazing!

weird food day as I was catching stuff on the run ( well walk actually....ha!)

B: half a Quest chocolate chunk bar ( tasted really naughty.... Hard to get my head around something that tastes like that is actually good for you), tall skinny cap

L: 40gr sliced ham, 1/4 hard boiled egg, 2 pieces of cucumber...and yes, folks, that was it....( I met a friend at a cafe and all they had were really carby "pasta salads" (no greens...what is the definition of a salad?), jacket potatoes with tons of cheese or ham or tuna swimming in Mayo....lots of yummy muffins and cakes though....geeese, who eats like that?   OH....I USED TO!

S: 100gr 0%fat yogurt and 1 jello sugar free pudding

D:  120gr lean hamburger grilled, (standing outside on the terrace in the freezing cold and dark!...we Brits are a resilient lot), green beans and lettuce.

S: Maybe a sugar free hot chocolate with skim milk if low on cals and protein....

Hi Dartmouth!  London is one of my favorite cities in the world!  I was there twice earlier this year!  Some of the food choices I found to be tough - like eating at pubs was challenging since I don't like red meat.  I often ate ethnic foods like Indian or Thai, and just ate chicken or prawns :)  Yum!  It's dark and cold here in DC at 5 pm these days, so don't feel alone!

I hear ya on the Quest bars - I have heard if you put them in the microwave for 10-15 seconds they are even more delicious, but I only eat them when I am on the go, so I have never been by a microwave ha ha.

Nice job making awesome choices when faced with yummy muffins and cakes!  When I start to hate working from home, I keep in mind how fortunate I am to avoid these temptations :)

In England it is much harder to find sugar free stuff and I find I do most cooking from scratch...no Trader Joes!

But the ethnic food is amazing but lots and lots of oil in it. And fish and chips...oh boy that is a tough thing to avoid.  When it comes to my turn in the pub...and I say " do you have any grilled fish?". I get such pitying looks...and I don't even have a pint of beer to make me legit!
