Vets vs. Newbies?
"I drink beer on a regular basis, the carbonation was a slight problem at first, but any other problem it brings happen to anyone else. It's a thick liquid full of calories. It makes you full for a little bit, and As with anyone(bypass or not) if you drink to much you vomit. I can handle alot (unusual for a bypass patient and wouldn't recommend keeping up with me, no judgement please) to each their own, if that's your vice then go for it. Just remember beer has a lot of calories (I don't care I have to eat as much as possible) but some dark beers have about half the calories as a 1 year post op patient should be eating in a day. Live life! Cheers!"
"That's against the laws of physics you'll belch first. If soda stretches your pouch then you should go to the ER ASAP for a double bowl obstruction. I drink soda on a daily basis."

Two people does not a trend make.
The general idea of "don't drink too much" is a sound one. But suggesting this is a widespread problem based on a few posts is not.

The "So many 'vets' have admitted to drinking a six pack of soda a day" threw me. Where? I have never seen it. If it was so rampant surely I would have. Not everyone is going to agree with you in life. If you don't like what is being said to you, you just move on. I try to stay very positive... but this was weird. You are basically complaining about drinking beer then have happy little emoticons drinking mugs of beer. makes no sense.

"So many vets" meant, a "certain number" of vets I can not believe how easily that was misconstrued. I was not saying that there were "so many of them" And the "happy little emoticons" were meant to emphasize the previous statement or question. However, that apparently was too complex for some to understand...This post was an attempt at a neutral response to all of the back and forth bull**** that I keep reading about from supposed "vets" an supposed "newbies' WTF is so hard about understanding that?
