Yep, I hear ya on the carbs.  I know what a slippery slope it is.  I can only do what I can do every day and try to keep it reigned in.  Why are they so tasty?!?!

Have a great weekend getting back to normal life.  I think we all share that sentiment!

WOW! Em, you sure know how to live! And you look fantastic! Anny,  I'm glad all of you are back on here with your posts-of-wisdom.  It was truly because of wondering how you all were each handling the holiday food sludge, that helped me get thru mine. (I'm the chief cook and baker; and probably a candlestick maker)  No dumpies, no foamies, no tummyache-ies.  Held steady on 143 and I am dying to get back to my gym on Monday as well!  PS: You all gave little Christmas presents to loads of us ~ you just didn't know it!

That's so sweet...I do love the support that OH provides...or should I say, all of you great folks are the support, and OH is the vehicle :)

I had foamies a few times.  I actually have them once or twice a week.  Usually it's one bite too many.  Totally self-inflicted.  Ugh.

The gym was just PACKED.  I am already irritated.  I already can't wait for people to break their resolutions.  I'm so bad, I know lol.

Happy New Year!  What an exciting way to spend the holidays!  The pictures are great.  Thanks for sharing.

I have discovered that I can't eat crackers.  Not even one.  I found myself having a cheese and cracker snack before bed multiple times last week and instead of having the 2 crackers that my nutritionist had in my sample menu, I had 4 . . . then another night 6.  Slippery slope for me.  I have decided to have my protein shake before bed instead.  Anyone else have filling, healthy ideas for a snack?

Good for you for realizing they are a problem!  I have seen people post (I think Grim has said this) that crackers have the word "crack" in them for a reason.

I love having a caramel machiato or strawberry cheesecake Light and Fit greek yogurt with slivered almonds before bed.  It feels like dessert and it has protein and the almonds make it more filling.  If I am not in the mood for sweet then I may have cheese or a piece of deli turkey wrapped around cheese.

Have a great weekend!!!

I'm SO jealous that you have apple pie yogurts!!!!!!

My go to snacks are Babybel Light, spiced pumpkin seeds, flavored roasted chick peas (I like the ones that the Good Bean makes), Skinnypop, and yogurt. I'm also a fan of Fiber Gourmet Crackers (an ounce for 60 or 70 calories!) with Laughing Cow Light wedges.

Everybody has their Kyptonite... Crackers don't bother me at all, but other breads I have to be very careful with. While my son and his family were here in NY Pizza and Bagels are required fare. They had the pizza without me, but yesterday morning was bagels before they left. I ate half, I was good with it. Wrapped up what was left for them to take with them. In the car on the way to the airport my daughter in law takes the wrapped 1/2 bagel out of the bag and was like - No one is going to eat this, I'm just going to leave it. (Not a flavor they like) Ugh...you know I went home and ate it. First bagel in 7 months, and I know I can't have them in the house. I did enjoy it though. Part of the journey, learning what we can personally can do or cannot do. One size does not fit all.

Happy New Year

Em, you look great in your photo's and your vacation sounds wonderful.  Glad you had a good time and welcome back.  So happy you found a nice guy.

Anny, How did New Years Eve go with Mr IKEA?  Glad your back with us.

My favorite snack/L or D is shrimp ****tail.  Filling and low calories and high protein.  Going to use it for my go to when I don't know what I want.  Quick simple and tastee.

I had a nice Holiday and my best part is I lost 2 pounds the week of Christmas and another 2 pounds yesterday.  79 pounds down, and I am so pumped to keep moving.  I got a fitbit and I think all the walking is really helping.  I know I was high on carbs through the holidays but I shut it down yesterday and am trying to go for as few carbs as I can (to decarb and get back to where I don't crave them).  Easier said than done but hoping to break the habit quick for it takes hold.

Glad everyone had a nice Holiday

3 months out Jan. 6th

B  fritata, and 2 slices of turkey bacon

L  turkey chili, have a few containers in the freezer and it really tastes good on frigid days like we are having.  Kinda warms you up from the inside out mmmmmm... Since I lost weight can't seem to get warm.

D  TBD may go out with a friend or not

S  shrimp ****tail, string cheese

Cal: 526 without dinner added, Prot 48

V/W  started

E  riding the bike and resistance training

As always have a good day, full of good choices.  It is a new year and we can all start new and continue good habits.

Good on you for decarbing now!  I didn't even eat carbs for about 10 months (unless they were in my yogurt for example) and I think that really helped me lose.  I find it's all too easy now to have a few fries, or a few chips or a few whatevers...so the more you can stay away, might be better.  There are definitely different camps (some preach moderation, some preach abstinence!) so feel free to ignore and find what works best for you :)

Congrats on loving the momentum...my FitBit is also a huge motivator and it's great that you are losing and walking and motivated to do more!  Happy new year!

I didn't eat a lot of the junk that was around the Holidays.  I had some crackers with cheese, a dinner roll, etc. I fit them in my daily food menu.  But it was more carbs than I am use to eating.  I got together with a few people and as you know the more carbs you eat the more you crave.  I felt better with less.  Like you I have most of my carbs in stuff like cottage cheese, yogurt.  Strange but my Dr allows for saltine crackers I eat those in chili.  I actually caught myself taking something that I hadn't planned out and stopped right then.  I brought a few things  I could eat and did weigh and measure and exercised.  I get a headache if I eat to many carbs.

I like to read the menus that others are eating for ideas I haven't thought of. I am trying to find my way and so I can stick to my change of eating.  I do want to be successful.  I also made an appt with a counselor/therapist to talk a few things out.
