RNY vegan trying to get back on track.
I second the dietician idea (or getting one yourself). POST-op, I email/talk with the dietician about once every 1.5-2 weeks. I stand closer to the dietician than I ever have with the surgeon or his PA.
She helps me learn/decide whether a recipe meets my dietary needs/goals. SHe helps me modify a beloved "evil bad" recipe to something that is tasty but infinitely more angelic.
I love Jessica Sargood and Meghan Cohen (Dr. Fitzer's dieticans) and couldnt have done it without them.
Also, one of the dieticians was also a runner. She ran on some of the courses I was contemplating (and scared) to do. She would say encouraging things like "The course is flat, it should be fairly easy for you"
Also, I have found just ONE personal training session with a personal trainer per quarter (i.e. ONE session every three months) to be a wonderful investment. I am rather proud of my pipes (i.e. arms). They are toned, not big, and not saggy. :)
