I take Celexa, have no problems, Dr didn't expect any with it.  I did take Zonisamide for migraines, 200mg daily... But since surgery I gave been able to wean off them and am doing great... I may get 1 mild migraine a month, I treat with imitrex injection.  Prior to surgery I was getting 15-20/month.

I can only hope that will be the case for me! I've been  having migraines constantly for 3 years now - as in my head never stops hurting. The pain level just changed is all. My Nuerologist has tried everything.

A qualified pharmacist will be able to tell you if your pills are absorbed at the duodenum (the portion we are bypassed) or further along the intestine.   Worth asking the question when you next pick up a prescription!

The vast majority of us have no problems absorbing meds the same as we did before surgery

My aunt is a pharmacist but I hadn't thought of asking her for some reason lol! Thanks for the suggestion.

I've learned, while many pills are used to treat the same condition, they are not all equal for an RNYer.  I have learned to look as much at the inactive ingredients in pills as the active ingredients.  I believe some inactive ingredients actually block absorption even more than the surgery already does.  At least it seems to be that way for me. So I talk with pharmacist and research meds before I take them now.  Good Luck.
