2 months post op trouble with solids
Shrimp, scallops and tuna were my new best friends at that point; just take it slow. If something doesn't work right away, just wait and try again in a couple of weeks.
I used tuna in a salad with finely chopped green onions, bread & butter pickles, and some mayo. Nice and moist, and very tasty. I don't use any bread or crackers, just eat the mixture with a fork.
Scallops in lemon pepper, broiled--yum!
Shrimp in the microwave, sprinkled with Mrs Dash basil & garlic.
It was a while before I could eat whole steak, but ground turkey in chili was great, and for quick meals, Wendy's chili was very good. I put chopped onions and cheddar cheese on top.
It's all a learning process, so take it easy and don't give up. When you have a NSV like your jeans falling down while you're walking across the parking lot to buy smaller clothes, you'll realize how great life is.
Remember, shop at Goodwill or Salvation Army while you're dropping sizes, and stay off the scale unless you weigh at your doctor's office. That demon scale will drive you nutz.
And definitely, don't forget to exercise, even if it's only walking.
I have not had my surgery yet. But reading all my nutritional information and this is what mine says.
week one I am on clear liquids
starting day 8 I go to puree foods for 3 weeks.
then starting at 1 month I go to soft foods and then at 3 months I start my regular foods.
Hi! My plan (when it was meat time) called for getting my protein from a) scrambled eggs b) hard boiled eggs, c) canned salmon and d) canned tuna. I also supplemented with fat free refried beans, canned black beans and canned pintos. I found hard boiled eggs (just 1/4 of an egg) very filling and tolerable.
I made a "chili" which comprised mostly FF refried beans, black beans, with just a TAD (distributed in the whole mixture) of shredded canned chicken.
Hope these ideas get you through!

RNY Surgery: 12/31/2013;
Current weight (2/27/2015) 139lbs, ~14% body fat
Three pounds below Goal!!! Yay !
I had the same problem at 2 month out, in fact 15 months out, I still have problem with some meat, chicken and overcooked pork.
I could eat chicken thighs, if cooked in the slow cooker, chili, speg. sauce. I can now eat eggs and tuna with very little problems, if I eat slowly and chew well.
Eat the foods you can and every once in a while try the foods you were having trouble with, most of the time you can enjoy them again.
