Is soup a liquid or a meal?
Tomato soup with no chunks... would not be a good choice for me since most Tomato soup has natural (from tomato) and added sugars making the soup mostly carbs. Even when I eat carbs - i always eat them with fat and proteins. Tomato soup may be Ok if you mix proteins into it.

I agree that you need to be careful with tomato soup. If I do have it I will have a small portion or even add it to a broth based soup in order to keep the carbs in chec****asionally I have a small amount of low sodium V-8 juice as well. My NUT said as long as I monitor the amount I'm consuming it was perfectly fine.

I started out drinking the broth first, then eating the solid last and/or eating the solids and leaving the broth. I finally asked and was told dense protein food choices are optimal gathering soup isn't a recommended food choice. Chili seems to be a good "soup" choice. My DH treats homemade soup-making almost like a religion; if you do, too, please don't shoot the messenger.
