artificial sweetners
I'm a total newbie to this process and don't have much of a craving for sugar as of yet but do like some in my oatmeal or a touch in my coffee and I'm using the real thing. Just a teaspoon at the most. It's like 4 grams.
In my former life I ate sweets like a kid on Halloween night.
Thanks everyone. It is something I love in my coffee but I don't see it triggering anything else right now so it sounds lovely Ken I'm good. I appreciate the input.

LOL they can pry my sugar free vanilla latte from my cold dead hands ;)
You know... there are sooooo many studies out there but most sadly are paid for by either the non-nutritive sweetener co's or the sugar industry... I look at it this way... we know what real sugar & those added calories does (many of us have felt the effects of that) and since I won't give up my coffee (LOL that would be dangerous to those around me) and I like a little sweet in it I'm going to stick with SF stuff.
I like sucralose (Splenda) in cold drinks, but I could never abide any artificial sweetener in hot drinks, especially my beloved coffee. That is, until I discovered erythritol and xylitol. I have no problem with sugar alcohols--I know they give a lot of people stomach issues. I was finally able to go sugar free for my coffee and switched from non-dairy creamer to heavy cream to cut out that sugar as well (I do keto diet now).
I prefer the xylitol, to me it tastes no different from sugar. But it does have carbs in it so I alternate, depending on my carb count for the day.

I use liquid stevia mostly -- but I will use splenda and sweet n low in a pinch.
I haven't seen any proof that it stalls me -- although, I did lose an additional ten pounds switching from mostly sweet n low to liquid stevia -- not sure why.
