What's on your Thursday Menu, RNYers?
Morning!
Anne of green gables for life! I talked my husband into listening to the audio book on our trip to pei a couple of years ago! He wasn't as enthusiastic as me....
Another one that popped into my head was a 3 book series, it's québécois lit, the first book is called J'ai besoin de personne. I don't know if it would hold up to a second reading, but the series is about a teen who's boyfriend (spoiler alert!) dies in a motorcycle accident, and finds out she's pregnant etc. I remember it because it was the first book I read that dealt with mature themes like sex and death, and offered a more realistic depiction of teen life at that time. I was like, "adults know teens do sex stuff?? Hahaha
Another was called Jeanne fill du Roi. It followed a girl who was sent to new-France in the 1600s to be married to man ( common practice for wards of the crown then).
i was big into Archie comics when I was young. He was a staple.
...and definitely Harry Potter!
menu: not a good rny plan today...
B: protein shake
L/D : tbd, I'll pull together leftovers for lunch, and then hubby is picking up groceries after work (he's trying the online thing, then just show up for pick up), then we dash out to a local brewery for a cheq presentation for our Alzheimer's fundraiser! So I'll probably have yogurt or chicken on the way haha

Morning Menu Crew! Today is last day of work for me, I am off tomorrow and I get Monday off but might go in, its performance review time and I am swamped!
I hear you on the gym/training thing JB. For me I am very affected by the weather and rainy cold weather that we have been having makes me want to sleep and hibernate and be lazy, so I totally get you! I will message you later today and make sure you are going to the gym! lol
QOTD: Nancy Drew books got me into mystery and suspense novels, Judy Blume all the way girls, her books were so risque for young me lol (I grew up with a very Naive mother who projected that on me), and my FAV book that I a read as a teenager was "Weaveworld" by Clive Barker, that book really opened me to how much you can lose yourself in a book and be transported, I still have my OLD battered torn book of Weaveworld packed in a box in the basement, think I might download it for my Kobo now, I love it so much!
