BIRTHDAY CAKE
My birthday was around 1 month after RNY and I can't remember what I ate on that day which tells you how non important it was which is AWESOME.
I totally agree with everyone else about disassociating events with food, which is hard with our society but doable.
I rewarded my meeting goals with things like pedicures, books, and trips.

Red flags!! You need to stop thinking of food as a 'treat' A previous poster suggested pedicure. Maybe new hair do. The way to success is to stop thinking about food at every important occasions in our lives. I know it's hard but you are strong , you had the surgery , you can so do this!!!! Happy Birthday early
Thank you everyone for the comments. I never thought about having cake or any other treat for my birthday. My husband brought it and it got me to thinking. Everyone is correct I need to stop putting food with special occasions. This is a habit that I am going to have to work real hard on because it is what I have done for so many years. I loved the watermelon cakes they are so cute, but if I'm going to have the best success from this surgery I think I'm going to chose a none food treat. Maybe I can talk my husband into getting a pedicure with me.

A few options I have done throughout the years... http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2015/06/birth day-treats-post-weight-loss-surgery.html
A few would be fine 5 weeks out
Hope you have a great day!
I am just learning about your blog read about it for the first time the other day looked around for a few minutes, but I have really been looking today. I want to say thank you so much for taking the time to post this. I 3 weeks our from surgery and in that stall plus my head is getting to me about what have I done to myself no matter how hard I try to not let it get to me it does. Your recipes are giving me a lot of hope that I can get through this the food looks so good.

I had a giant piece of chocolate cake with an Eclair cake on top for icing from Portillo's (a local fresh/fast food joint also know for their cakes) and had some caramel corn from Garrett's (another famous local place to Chicago that I have as a birthday tradition). Hey wait. That was last year. Oh that's right. I don't do that anymore. This year I just purchased a nice watermelon and gave myself a big slice (forget the whipped cream). I don't normally ea****ermelon due to the sugar, so it was such a nice fresh treat. Funny, I didn't miss the other stuff!

LOL that was funny. I will be happy when I'm there and don't miss it. Once minute I will miss food and then I will eat something and I feel so bad I wonder why I even miss food.
