What's on your Saturday menu RNYers?
Hi Mandi,
I experience the same thing with my father who is nothing but 100% supportive of me and my WLS but he just doesn't understand the the kinds of foods that I need to eat. I try to explain it and he says ok but he just doesn't get it. I don't want him to think I'm unappreciative when he brings food to me so I have stopped talking with him about it. I say thank you very much and will bring it to work or give it to a friend that will enjoy it. It's a tough spot to be in. I feel for you. I hope it gets better for you.

I'm sorry that you're in the same kind of position. It's so tough because we know that they're just trying to be helpful and that it's coming from a good place but it's hard to try to explain to them without hurting feelings. I find it especially hard to do because my husband is overweight as well and I don't ever want him to feel like I'm lecturing him or trying to force him to make the changes that I'm working on making. It's just hard to emotionally take care of myself and everyone else at the same time. I feel like I'm on a tightrope sometimes haha.

Good afternoon,
My day hasn't been good, someone called at 5:50 am so my sleep was broken this morning. My friend is always in a hurry when I say I'll take her somewhere. She comes over and I haven't had my breakfast or ready for the day so I felt rushed. Then she took forever at the store.
Now I just dropped 24 oz of crystal light all over the kitchen floor.
Qotd I have quite a few gadgets. I just got an instant pot but I'm not sure if I like it. My favorite is my spiralizer and my electric grill.
Accountability I had Birthday cake last night. Dinner was pulled pork, watermelon, baked beans chips and dip.
B ham and cheese omelette and string cheese
L tuna and cottage cheese
D sirloin pork chop and asparagus
S hot dogs and watermelon
Have a good day
It's late but I had to jump on to answer the QOTD: I don't know if you have pampered chef in Canada but their spiralizer is so much easier than the normal ones you see. It works with gravity, instead of having to position zucchini between two pieces and make sure you get it right. One thing that I will tell you makes the zucchini better when spiralized, is to do it ahead of time and let it sit out and dry a little, and I leave it for days in the fridge in a bowl lined with paper towel with no lid. The drying makes it not get mushy when you cook it.
I also love my Insta pot, honestly mostly for basic things yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, chicken soup, and my favorite recipes my pork Carnitas.
Are use my stick blender every day as well, and use it to emulsify my MCT oil into the milk for my coffee. But it also froth the milk, if you want to feel like you're having a cappuccino or something.
I love my Blendtec Blender. Honestly at this point I think I could easily get rid of my food processor as little as I use it. I don't do big cooking anymore.

Been busy today and only just getting here!
QOTD: I love kitchen gadgets. I truely don't need them all. My favorite is my mandolin, which is super handy when I'm making pickle chips. Quartfulls of perfect crinkle-cut chips! I too, am looking for a spiralizer. I have bucketloads of zuchinni, I may as well have zoodles!
today I had 2 scrambled eggs with a slice of American cheese and a tablespoon of salsa for breakfast, with 3 chicken maple sausage links.
Haven't done much about lunch except I got a skinny latte at SB while we were running around I will maybe have some cottage cheese? Yeah I'll have cottage cheese.
dinner tonight is at a friend's house, he just moved into a new place with his girlfriend and they're having a game night housewarming get-together. He called me to approve his menu! lol we're having pulled pork with a variety of sauces on the side it's late enough now that my lunch cottage cheese is just to keep me from being too hungry when I get there.
have a great weekend!!
Late post for me again today. Quick post and then I'm off to get ready for work. I have had a headache for two days that Tylenol isn't touching. Gonna be a really long weekend if it doesn't go away. Right now it's is behind my right eye. The last two days it has been completely across my forehead.
QOTD: I love my Keurig. I also really like my cheap spiralizer even though I have only used it a couple times. I use my mini chopper quite often. I bought an air fryer I just had to have 6 months ago and it is still in its plastic bag on my counter. I really need to use this soon.

B2 - Turkey lunch meat, laughing cow cheese wedge
