Aw hang in there. I can relate to being the negative Nancy in the room. I am pretty sure my friends and family want to shake me out of my blues right now, but it's so hard to rally when everything is the worst.

I am strongly considering dropping out of work-life and going back to school for another graduate degree. Do you do your classes online or in person? I have never taken a class for credit online, and I am a little worried about it.

Unsolicited advice: if you can maintain 20 hours a week at Starbucks you can have online college covered at 100%.

Do they also pay bail? Because I'm pretty sure I'd murder half of the patrons, lol.

Mornin' All!

I haven't posted in the last couple of days since I've been dealing with my mother. Someone is starting this morning (she'll be there 1-2 hours a day in the mornings) to help Mom out with things - so hopefully that'll take some pressure off my sister and me. Mom is now saying we should look into assisted living after I get back from Italy in mid-May. Whew. I agree - although that's still a month away, and she may be in much better shape by then. But even so, I think it would be a wise idea to at least get her name on some waiting lists since it could take awhile for a vacancy to open up. And at most places, you can always let them know that you're not ready yet (if and when you make it to the top of the list and get "the call") and not lose your place in the queue. I know from trying to place my father in a nursing home that if you have to find a place right away, often the only choices you have are pretty awful. Much better to have time on your side..

nothing on the agenda today other than to tackle more items on the "to do" list for our trip. So.much.stuff. Plus I really need to exercise since I haven't had the time or motivation to do much of it lately, and I can tell. I may go to Zumba today if DH gets home from the dentist in time (his car is in the shop, so he's using mine). If not, I'll at least do *something*.

QOTD: before the pandemic, I used to do all my regular shopping at this warehouse-style store (Woodman's - it's in southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois) and then go to the occasional specialty grocery for the few things Woodman's doesn't carry (and if I only needed one or two items, I'd sometimes just go to one of our Kroger affiliates so I didn't have to fight the crowds at Woodman's). After the pandemic lockdowns started, I started going to Aldi's more and more and at some point got sort of addicted to it. So now that's my primary store - I just go to Woodman's if I need things Aldi's doesn't carry (and I still visit specialty shops or our Kroger affiliate occasionally for the aforementioned reasons). I also go to Costco sometimes, but I only buy their flavored water (it's cheap) and things that are on sale, because I can usually find things for the same price or cheaper at Aldi's or Woodman's.

B: not hungry. I may just have a protein shake. Coffee with half & half.

MS: protein pancakes topped with plain skyr and cranberry/cherry compote

L: cottage cheese with unsweetened applesauce

AS: I may have a small piece of peach kuchen (leftover from Easter brunch) and a L&F yogurt

D: not sure. I may make spaghetti (with TJ's turkey meatballs) or else asparagus soup with some kind of protein

have a great day, all! And yes, it's great to have you back for a few day, JB!!

Wow, I think it's good that your mom is coming around to the idea of assisted living.

I am out of the loop - sorry to hear that your mom is struggling. Last time I was here regularly, if was your MIL. Elderly parents are hard and require so much patience and extra love...

Good morning ~ So nice to see you QJB! Sounds like a mess in your work world! I hope you find your answer soon and of course, peace. The spider bites on my feet finally stopped itching but I didn't want to irritate the healing so I didn't work out again today. Tomorrow I will be back at it. Today - I have an overdue oil change/tire rotation and a taillight out this morning, a noon meeting and research this afternoon.

QOTD - It's nuts - I used to make fun of my mom for going all over town having to get certain things at certain stores, but I am worse! I hit about every store there is for something specific. I STILL haven't gone to Aldi - I want to, but I'm scared that will be a whole 'notha stop on my picky grocery list. TJ's is at the top, several different big grocery stores for this or that, a local grocery for boars head and wine.... and of course, Costco.

Accountability - good, but no work out

B- coffee, L&F yogurt and strawberries

L- just chicken w/Mexican cauli rice

d- chicken breast w/salad mix, tomatoes, kalamatas, light Italian

s-cucumber w/tajin

Have a great day!

Yes, it open last November. I want to go but I spend sooooo much money on food already - it's crazy.
