Good morning! I did not know that about Father's Day!

Our little work reunion last night was lovely, about 50 people showed up - because it rained all day everyone was crammed into a back section of the pub but circulated and caught up nicely. My superpower is faces and names so I lost track of the number of times someone would come up and whisper in my ear "who did I just talk to" or "who's that in the XXX". So fun. Tech in the 90s with a great group of people created some definite bonds -- trauma or otherwise, lol.

QOTD - I don't use salad dressing. The closest I come is I might sprinkle a little vinegar on top.

No real plan for today outside of exercise, the long drive to and from the birthday party and lots of coffee. My plans for Sunday were changed so at least I get one day of no adulting.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Your superpower is my kryptonite. My mom remembered every person she ever met, and their entire bio as well. There are days I almost forget JBs name.

Same, I have face blindness. Plus a very poor memory to names. But numbers or some business emails, dealings. - I remember for years and years...

I didn't recognize a fairly high level person within my company when we were at the airport the other day. It had been a few years since I've seen her...she changed her hair and doesn't look like her badge photo anymore so, yeah. I introduced myself. Oops.

Being faceblind kinda sucks. I really rely on features and hair to remember people.

I sometimes call Greg by one of the cats' names. I've been bad with names for awhile, but I used to be good at faces. Not always anymore. It's embarrassing..

I used to have that memory for names. My husband would be talking to someone and look at me and say I bet you don't know this lady's name. I would always say their name. One day I was irritated with him and answered that I could not remember and asked him what it was. He never did that again.

Good morning. On Friday I learned that we (WORK) have Monday off. It's a federal holiday, but not a state of SC holiday. Last year when I was on vacation, Brian introduced the new Juneteenth as a company holiday, and that day was posted on the company paid stat holiday list at the beginning of this year. I thought I corrected it (I did on some forms, but not others, ugh). We already have one floating extra holiday that can be used for any day, and the standard 10 stat paid holidays. I'm wondering of Brian will show up to work tomorrow and then call me to ask where is everyone.

But because of the Monday off, and me "slacking" last week - I decided to work late yesterday plus put a whole day in today. Just "regular accounting maintenance stuff". I also lost a good employee, and we have a new one we are training. My accounting assistant/ustomer service manager is mostly training him, but I will have to do some of that, and do it soon.

Keith also has Monday as a day off, so I think I will drag him somewhere to eat out. We have 2 cats and he takes care of them more than I do. Ideally tonight would be nice to take Keith out for father's day dinner (we have 2 cats), but it would be crowded, and we don't like that.

As a fun part - I finally "broke down" and decided I want a kindle reader. ... I was wishy-washy about getting one. I really don't need it, but I tried a simple Kindle 2022, then I decided that I didn't like it, the size, the screen, etc. Long story short--- Keith... got it for me as an early birthday gift. Lol (it's on sale now). It's already set up and ready to go.

Today is a workday for me, then I plan to stop by Costco to get some meds. my gastro doc office worked miracle and got insurance to approve some really $$$ meds (PPi Dexilant and Xifaxan for SIBO.) Lately my temper is short... I really need a vacation.

QOTD: it depends - I try to avoid vegetable oils like soy, canola, corn, etc...so when we are out I really limit the amount of dressing on my salad and I dip tip my fork in that. But at home, or homemade dressing, it depends if I got other fat source on my plate (i.e. avocado), or

Menu: undecided. Some proteins and vegetables...

I bought a Kindle Fire the day they came out about 12 or 13 years ago. I have never been without one since. I love that I can make the print larger on my books and that I can watch Amazon, Netflix, etc on it and can use it for web browsing and social media. I think I am on my sixth one and replace them the day they stop working, which seems to be about every two years or so.
