Anybody out there?
Hi, Nancy! I'm here (after just discovering this board last week), but I think most people may on the Scrapbooking or Crafts board.
So, what projects do you like to stamp? I love to do greeting cards, though sometimes I save time by just applying double-stick tape to beautiful graphics and taping them on pre-folded card stock. Once, I made a layered collage of patriotic-themed postage stamp pictures cut from the US Philatelic catalog.
How long have you been stamping? Too bad there isn't a way we could post pictures of our cards...I'd love to see your work (and everyone else's).
Hope to see ya around...perhaps a few of us can breathe a little life into this board.

I just found out about this board as well.
Guess we better start working some CPR on this board.
I've been stamping for about 2 years. I signed on as a Stampin Up demonstrator last October. I was able to attend convention this year and learned SO much. I love to see what other things I can stamp besides cards and scrapbook pages. I also like to find new techniques and try them out.
Where are you in your WLS journey? I am waiting on insurance approval. Seems like forever!
Hi -- How interesting that you are a demonstrator for Stampin Up. I don't know much about them except that the SU products sell very well on ebay. Is it a Tupperware-type thing, with demonstration/sales parties?
It *is* fun to see what kind of stuff can be created with stamps. I used to take Stampington magazine http://www.stampington.com/index.html and enjoyed the amazing variety of handcrafts.
I must admit that I'm a rather one-trick pony when it comes to stamping. I'd love to learn the watercoloring technique someday, but I haven't yet figured it out on my own.
And I'm still waaayyy too fat to want to attend a convention or class! I just had a lap-band "installed" on June 10 and have lost about 25 pounds. Waiting on insurance just about drove me over the cliff, so I can certainly sympathize you. Which surgery are you planning on?

Jo,
Stampin Up! is kind of like a Tupperware thing. It is direct sales. You can host workshops or do a book party and earn free stuff. Since becoming a demonstrator, I have become somewhat of a snob about what I buy. Stampin Up! was actually started by 2 sisters about 16 years ago because they thought it should be easier to find all the stuff you need in one place, it should coordinate, and someone should be able to show you how to use them.
I used to think I couldn't do watercolors until I went to a seminar and one of the demonstration trainers showed us and I was trying too hard to be perfect. She definitely changed my expectations and now I love it.
Congrats on your surgery and your loss. I hope to be on the losing side soon. I've lost before, but it all came back plus more.
If you buy on e-bay, be very careful. Some stuff sells for more than we sell it for. I hate to see someone take advantage of folks.
Hey, we can get this board going. What do ya think?
Good grief! I can't believe I've forgotten about this messageboard. If it dies, I take partial responsibility. :S
I apologize for not seeing your message, Nancy. I've heard a little bit about Stampin Up! and it sounds like you're having fun. I don't go in for sales-type things anymore, but more power to you.
I know what you mean about trying too hard to be perfect. It would be great to attend a class or demonstration where I could see the watercolors being taught by a professional. I'm too chicken to even try it in the privacy of my own home.
Thank you--I wish I could say I've lost more weight, but it's stopped cold because I've been carbo-loading.
Surprisingly, I haven't gained much weight, perhaps a pound or two. This is the time of the month when I gain 3-4 pounds of water anyway, so I can't say exactly what I've gained. But B4B (before band), I would've put on at least 10 pounds eating what I've eaten during the last month. So, the band has been worth it just because I can't binge eat myself to death anymore.
Anyway, I apologize again for apparently ignoring your post. I've been trying very hard to get some listings ready to put onto ebay, and that has consumed much of my time. But I am in need of "fessing up" on my journal page, so I should be here more frequently.
Take care,
Jo
